Le Airbnb était magnifique et très bien situé. Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans l'appartement, c'était très tranquille. Tous les services possibles sont à proximité du logement. La place de stationnement intérieur est facile d'accès. Seul problème, il y a eu un retard pour le check-in car l'appartement n'était pas encore nettoyé. L'hôte nous a acceuillis et nous a offert de déposer nos bagages et de revenir une heure plus tard. Bonne communication et bon service.

When a property doesn't come up to my expectations, I tend not to leave a review.
However, apart from the following, hopefully, constructive comments, the problems with this property don't need much to allow a 5-star review.
This property is spacious and well-equipped. However, the soft furnishings need to be replaced immediately. For the price, I expected at least one toilet roll in each of the four toilets, and at least one bath towel and one hand towel for each guest.
The cushions are old and faded and offer no comfort whatsoever.
The ensuite is also dated and smells damp, so the window has to be kept open to avoid the odor being too strong throughout the apartment.
The futuristic shower looks like something out of 'The Jetsons' and the water needs to run for several minutes before hot water arrives.
Overall it's a good property in a good location, but the soft furnishing, and towel and toilet roll situation would not cost much to rectify.

Location was perfect close to the centre of Funchal but away from the hustle and bustle. Supermarkets, restaurants & bars only a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at this very spacious apartment. It is well located and within walking distance to the harbour, Old Town, bus connections and shopping centre with supermarket etc. Lots of places to eat nearby. The views from this apartment are spectacular and worth the steep climb back from the centre. The communication from Island Apart was very good. The pool was quiet and enjoyed by us most days. Although no air conditioning, the many fans were much appreciated for our August stay. I would recommend.

We had a fantastic 10 day stay at this flat. The view from the lounge and balcony was amazing and we couldn’t get enough of it. We had plenty of room to spread out and were very comfortable. The property manager were very responsive and helped us along the entire trip. I rate An Island Apart very highly for service and responsiveness. The apartment was well appointed with all that we needed for a comfortable stay. The location of the property was perfect for us, with plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk down to the waterfront. We would definitely return for another stay here!

We love the location of this property, which is why we choose to stay a second time (first time in 2021). We absolutely love the view from the balcony and the roof terrace! Watching the fireworks on New Year's Eve was THE highlight of an already amazing trip! If you get a chance to experience it, you should. The proximity to the rest of Funchal is great (as long as you don't mind the two large hills - which is why the view is so amazing). You can get to plenty of restaurants and all the key highlights in town.
The apartment was very comfortable for our family of 5 and we really enjoy the space available in the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen. It is easy to feel at home and to settle in to a nice comfortable stay.
We would love to return as this apartment has been a big factor in making our stay so wonderful.

The location is amazing, very close to center of town. Easy walk to town with lots of shops, restaurants and groceries nearby. Views spectacular! Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedding. Many of the sliding doors would not lock. Biggest criticism was with the showers - one not functioning, one difficult to access (door broken) third had broken glass on the door. Would also be nice to have ceiling fans in bedrooms, they were stuffy even with windows open. But, overall, pros far outweigh cons and this is a great place for a stay!

This apartman has a perfect location and the view from the terrace is breathtaking. Beatrice was very kind and helpfull. The apartman is very spacious, everything (the kitchen, bathroom, rooms) is well equiped.
After a whole day of hiking, just buy a bottle of good wine and sit on the roof terrace after sunset and enjoy life! You can do it here.

Unfortunately the shower in the main bathroom did not work and they failed to fix it in a week. It was a bit unpleasant but we were able to use the other two bathroom (there were five of us).

Convenient parking facility in the basement. The pool area is not sufficient for a full week of sun and bath, but OK for the odd dip now and then.

gegen zu prüfen oder sich schriftlich bestätigen zu lassen.
Hühner schreien Nachts, Hunde bellen Nachts und die Feuerwache spielt mit dem Signal hinterm Haus.

This property has better views than most of the Miradouras around Funchal. It is insanely good. The property itself is comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can eat in and make the most of the views. It is only a short walk into old town Funchal where there are great restaurants and plenty to do.
Negative:
Worth noting that this property is up a hill. Quite a steep hill. Which makes sense, because being higher is how you get great views. Have I mentioned the views? If you're incredibly unfit, then this might not be the best property for you.

Had a great week at the apartment, stayed as 2 couples and an infant and there was plenty of space. The standout feature is the lovely terrace which we spent most of our time on. Lots of nice restaurants close with the centre of Funchal also walking distance. If the hills are an issue it is easy enough to catch a bus back to the bottom of the last hill (which is what we did!).
Beach towels were provided as a welcome addition. We had a bit of noise from the children in the apartment below in the evenings but can’t say if this was an one off or not.

This was a delightful, stylish and well located apartment. It is in the road opposite the Casino, up a hill. The views from the balcony, and the top terrace, were amazing.
Everything was clean, well organised, and it was very spacious. There were only two of us, but there's enough space for a family.
An Island Apart were very responsive and helpful, allowing early check in.
We have no complaints at all, and I'd recommend this apartment.

The views from this apartment are stunningly beautiful, both day and night. As described, you can see both the mountains and the sea. We especially enjoyed the roof top patio area. We spent several evenings enjoying an end-of-day glass of wine while gazing at the stars. It is on a quieter side-street and an easy walk to restaurants and other stores in the area. At the bottom of the street there are several small restaurants that were really good. We all enjoyed Restaurant Victoria. There is also an Italian Restaurant that had delicious pizza good for take away. I also recommend the Confectionary bakery in the same area. You can walk to Pingo Doce, a good size supermarket, that also sells wine with great prices. It is located in a large shopping mall that you can see from the living room window in the apartment. This apartment is on 2 floors and has 3 good size bedrooms. The only room with air conditioning is the top floor living area that opens to the roof-top patio. There are floor fans in each of the bedrooms and the living room to supply cooler air on warm evenings. We kept the windows open all the time for cool air and there were no mosquitos. The elevator to the 6th floor was very convenient. There is a key code for added security. I traveled with my husband, adult daughter and my parents. There was adequate space for all of us.
The host was quick to respond and had good communication. Filipa greeted us upon arrival and was also very helpful.
I highly recommend this apartment if you are planning to stay in Funchal.

This apartment is in an ideal location for exploring Funchal by foot, and Madeira by car. Groceries are within a 10 minute walk at the Pingo Doce in the bottom of La Vie shopping mall.
This apartment is incredibly roomy and comfortable. The view is amazing and worth paying for!
There is safe, underground parking and you will feel very secure here. It was quiet for sleeping. All appliances were in excellent condition and the filtered drinking water from the fridge was appreciated.
I was surprised that the beautiful kitchen was not better equipped with cooking utensils and pans and more glassware. So many empty cupboards!
A little extra attention to details such as shower cleanliness would have made this a top notch stay. I would stay here again.

Andre's place was incredible. The view just makes this place so memorable. We were able to have wonderful evenings on the rooftop patio looking out over incredible Funchal. The flat itself was perfect for a group of 5. There are so many washrooms everyone had their own space!
Arrival was smooth and had no issues checking in or leaving. The place was also very clean and have everything we needed. Lots of options for eating and drinking within a short walk to the flat! Couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks so much Andre!

The flat is furnished to a high standard (photos were accurate) and comfortably sleeps 6 adults. The rooftop terrace is a real bonus and gives breathtaking views over the city below.
The location is ideal for discovering Funchal on foot (albeit up and down the hills and steps!).

The two of us have just spent a week in this fantastic apartment. The pictures are spot on. We were impressed with the quality and finish of the place, the perfect location and the fantastic views. They actually do take your breath away. Due to diverting due to wind we were 3 hours late in arriving. However the taxi driver was there to meet us and Carolina welcomed us to the apartment. The arrangements worked perfectly. Communication with Andre was excellent, both before and during our stay.
It was clean and plenty of towels etc. Huge amounts of space and the furnishings and fixtures were very high quality.
Everything was just spot on. This was our first experience of an Airbnb and we were very impressed indeed.
If you have booked here you are very lucky, if you have not then you should not hesitate

Staying at this apartment was an amazing time! We stayed as a family of 5 and everyone had plenty of space and storage. Everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is excellently equipped and has a dishwasher. We had a BBQ on the roof terrace one evening after sunbathing during the day!
The location is quite convenient, good for walking to the waterfront or city centre, around 10 minutes to the supermarket and plenty of brilliant restaurants near the casino (we recommend Casal de Penha as a favourite!). Madeira is full of hills so the walk back to the apartment is a little uphill but not too bad.
A perfect place to chill out or to use as a base for exploring.
The pool was a little cold as it was cloudy mostly but we were able to swim in it.
André had great communication throughout and Marianna was very attentive when checking us in at the apartment.

The duplex is conveniently located (walking distance to the centre of Funchal, shopping center, good restaurants and sea excursions). The roof-top terrace, its veranda and (in case of less good weather), the balcony on the floor below are absolutely worth booking this flat.
Furniture is a bit old-fashioned and takes up a lot of space, but is in good state and provides ample storage space.
Kitchen is equipped ok for up to 6 people (albeit without spares).
Generally two thumbs up if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Funchal!

The apartment is modern, spacious and well equiped. It is very convenient. We stayed there with five people (two adults, three teenagers). We all liked Madeira, Funchal and the apartment. The view from the roof terrace is amazing. When it is too cold to eat outside, you can eat upstairs where there are big windows do you can enjoy the view. There are three bathrooms. The kitchen is spacious. We had a little problem with the coffeemachine but André made sure it was replaced quickly. The kitchen equipment (pots and pans etc) is a bit poor, but sufficiënt to make a simple meal. When you stay in the apartment with ou can park your car in the garage under the building. The apartment is close to the city centre and all sorts of shops (bakery in the morning) and restaurants. We all enjoyed our stay and are satisfied about the way André made us feel at home. Madeira is fantastic. This apartment is a perfect spot to discover different aspects of the island.

Only 10 minutes walk to the centre of town and 5mins to the shopping centre made it very convenient. we were very satisfied, my wife and I, that we were able to book this apartment on booking.com. It was very centrally located in Funchal with a breathtaking view of the city. However, the chickens woke us up at night and the barking dogs.
Then in the morning the ambulance and the fire station. That's annoying if you want to sleep with the window open

The apartment itself is outstanding. Located perfectly close to the casino and to the old town, close to the (not interesting) hotel district where you can find some nice restaurants. Anything worthy for a touristic stay is reachable walking.
Rooftop is over the edge with a fantastic view on Funchal and the coastline.
Decoration is modern, simple and perfectly adapted for peace of mind. Rooms are really nice and the facilities are well maintained, this is equivalent to a 4 star hotel, hands down. Even better because you have the all apartment for yourself !
I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Madeira.

Fantastic stay
We loved our stay in this spacious, spotless apartment with the most stunning views of Funchal. Handy for La Vie shopping and the Old Town as well as the Lido area. Was a pity that our last 2 days were spoiled by a very noisy boiler problem as occurred at the weekend so it was difficult to contact anyone. Wouldn’t put us off returning though as am sure will be fixed. An Island Apart helped us find this place so very grateful to them.
Clean spacious and special
This was a lovely apartment overlooking Funchal. Lovely views from the roof terrace.
It was clean and well organised. The check in was excellent, and dealing with An Island Apart was straightforward. They were very flexible and allowed an early check in.
We wanted to stay longer, but it had already been booked.
It is up a hill from the Casino in a nice area. We’d definitely return.

- slightly Noisy at night (we sleep with Windows open)
- sleeping material (deckchair) looks like it is not perfectly clean or old (some spots on it)

The biggest advantage is the rooftop with stunning view where you can do bbq or just chill with the nightlights.

Jasmineiro I is a fabulous and stylish apartment located a short walk from La vie shopping centre and several excellent eateries. The apartment is on two levels with a stunning sun room and large terrace on the top floor. Even with six adults staying in the three bedrooms, the apartment still felt spacious and comfortable. The only real negative point is the shower screen in the bathroom which makes it difficult to get into the bath/shower safely.
I would definitely choose this apartment again if staying in Funchal with family or friends.

In january, it was a little cold inside because there is just one little electric heater, and we liked to have an electric coffe maker and an orange squeezer (because a lot of oranges at Madère).

Very nice apartment for staying at the center of Funchal. Property is excellent equipped, you have everything what you need . Just few minutes by walk to old city, Marina, market etc. Perfect view from you windows and roof terrace to Funchal and ocean.

La location était conforme à la description avec une pièce de vie agréable, 2 chambres et 1 salle de bain confortables, 1 grande mezzanine avec un coin canapé et un autre lit double. Seule la 2 ème salle de bain manquait, il s'agissait en fait d'1 douche extérieure. La vue sur mer est magnifique' entourée d'1 végétation luxuriante, et l'accueil de la propriétaire chaleureuse. Les routes sont par contre très sinueuses, ce qui implique un temps de route important, mais c'est l'effort nécessaire pour calme et nature.
