Totally refurbished to welcome you, its entire space was designed for your comfort and well-being. The modern and careful decoration is in tune with the historical streets that surround this city building. With a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom and a generous open space, this apartment is perfect to discover the charms of Funchal.
The house is fully equipped and has all the amenities to make you feel at home.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA
This house is located in a privileged central area, right in the heart of the city of Funchal. At 15 minutes walking distance from the Lavradores Market and the Old Town of Funchal, from here you can explore on foot the several touristic points of our beautiful city (e.g. Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)

TRANSPORTATION
With a bus stop in the vicinity (five minutes away), transport will not be a problem for our guests.
For departures and arrivals from the airport, there is an aerobus stop about seven minutes from the house, although the best option to reach the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the cabs you find at the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the apartment.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We are always available to help or answer questions. Contact us through our cell phone numbers or email. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.

OTHER REMARKS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid identification document (e.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If not booked within a maximum of 48 hours, guests will be subject to our staff's availability.
- All bed linens and towels are provided. We can also place a crib, high chair, and baby bathtub if needed. There is a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and fire blanket at all properties.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

A well designed and modernised appartment, which was super clean. Very well located in the centre of Funchal, with the beautiful Municipal Gardens just round the corner, and a few hundred yards to the super market if you are self-catering. Most places are an easy walk from here, with many bus routes a short walk away down on the sea front. Some local bars and restaurants also nearby, as well as a great photography museum in the same street. Recommended.

We hebben een hele fijne week gehad in het appartement. In het begin even zoeken, omdat alles zelfservice is. De wasmachine en droger zijn wel aan een schoonmaakbeurt toe (deze ruiken erg muf). Daarnaast is het bed echt super hard, alsof je op een plank ligt. Na al die lange wandelingen is het fijn om lekker te rusten, dus een lekker bed is dan wel prettig. Verder was alles super goed voor elkaar en heel netjes en schoon. Heel dicht bij het centrum waardoor alles op loopafstand is.

Tip: de parkeergarage die aangeboden wordt is zo’n 15-20 euro per dag. Wij parkeerden hier: R. dos Netos 52, São Martinho, 9000-084 Funchal, Portugal. Deze was iets verder lopen, maar 6euro per dag! Een groot verschil.

Second floor apartment in a popular area of Funchal. Convenient for restaurants, supermarkets, and buses. Everything can be done on foot or by bus, so no car required. Comfortable bed and good shower. Kitchen is sufficient for preparing simple meals and shared laundry also on second floor.

Lovely spotlessly clean, well equipped apartment, with laundry facilities in the building. Great central location in the old town, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby, with most things in walking distance. No sunbathing area, but we walked to the lido on the prom, about 15 mins walk, which was ideal , entry in, two sunbeds, and parasol was €14. Recommended.

Great apartment in very central location. Clean and exactly as the photos show. Easy to get in, and had everything we might need. Only issue was that the lock seemed to be slightly temperamental, and occasionally needed to be checked to make sure that they hadn't unlocked again or had locked when we wanted to leave.

Very nice place to stay, close to everything. The place was clean and tidy and felt really cozy, the aircon helped a lot!
The only downside I would say, and it's not the host fault, is the street right outside gets really noisy. We were woken up both nights by motorcycles revving just outside, speeding and drunk people screaming...

Uns haben die Tage in Funchal wunderbar gefallen und die Lage der Wohnung ist top. Der Flughafentransfer hat ebenfalls einwandfrei funktioniert. Die Wohnung war sehr gut für unsere 10 Tage, wir hatten was wir brauchten. An einigen Stellen könnte man einmal ein bisschen was verbessern, sonst sieht die Wohnung genau aus wie auf den Bildern. Eine Runde Nummer, wir würden wiederkommen.

The accommodation was overall very good and offered much of what we were looking for: it is centrally located in Funchal, private, safe, clean and with solid and good facilities. The bathroom and bed were very good, you could cook, wash and there was even air conditioning! We spent a nice week there and were overall very satisfied.

Given the price (after all, just under 600€ for a week), the equipment could have been a little better, though. The furniture in the living room (sofa, table) was a bit rustic, there is a lack of storage space in the kitchen and basic kitchen utensils such as a kitchen knife, scissors, etc. At the price this should not be the case, but can easily be improved.

Everything else was very good though, especially the security and location were top! So all in all a maybe a bit expensive but definitely very good Airbnb

Regarding the photos of the terrace, they're on the homepage of the "Downtown" building and there are several photos of all the flats, including those with a terrace. In your case, flat 2C doesn't have a terrace, as you can see from the individual photos of this flat when you select the apartment. It's important to clarify this issue so that future guests don't make the same mistake when viewing the photos. Regarding the blinds and curtains, I'm sorry you had this problem. This problem has already been resolved by our maintenance team.

Super comfy place - the apartment was clean and spacious. We stayed 1 week, and it was perfect. Most bars, restaurants and shops in central Funchal are just a few minutes walk or even less. Cooking facilities were also very good. Everything went smoothly during check-in and check-out.

Location was amazing, amazing restaurants where we were treated like royalty, we were booking trips online and there was no problem for guides to pick us up from around the corner. Very close to the bay and main street from where all the buses go.
Unfortunately the only issue was that the ventilator in bathroom did not work and we had to leave the bathroom door open and open windows after every shower. This is however a minor thing and did not disturb our stay.

This is my third time staying at this apartment and I'm never disappointed. The apartment is always nice and clean and the location is great. Staff are always very responsive to any questions and friendly. They arranged my transfers to/from the airport and it was stress free. Everything is within walking distance and you can explore Funchal from this location. Checkin and out is online which is convenient and the code system to the building and apartment is hustle free and a great idea. Everything is as described. I had a perfect stay and will definitely be back.

Très bel appartement dans une chouette rue (animée mais pas trop bruyante) de Funchal.
Beaucoup de bons restaurants à proximité.
Appartement décoré avec goût et bien équipé.
Système de codes pour les portes très pratique.
Gestion assez impersonnelle : nous n avons vu personne ni au check in ni au check out.
Seule une fiche reprend quelques renseignements mais qui ne sont pas les plus judicieux. Par exemple : nous avons trouvé un parking plus proche et bien moins cher que ceux suggérés.

We had an amazing stay in the apartment. The location is perfect - all main attractions are in walking distance. There are a lot of restaurants and bakeries nearby. At the same time the street itself is quiet.
The apartment has everything required for a comfort stay.

Nothing special, some renovation of the room is needed, mouldy ceiling corner in the bedroom and in the bathroom and under the sink some mould as well. The street is little noisy. If your stay is under 8 days, you will not get the room cleaned at all.

This is a great location in Funchal! You can walk to all the Funchal sites and activities from the apartment or you can easily catch a bus if you want to go somewhere out of town. Getting here from the airport was easy with the Aerobus. The water temperature and pressure in the shower was perfect, the bed was very firm, the space was comfortable, and we loved the keyless entry system.

The apartment was very nice, can not come up with anything we wish would have been better. Working A/C was very welcome (even in november), location is superb (longest we had to walk was maybe 15min),… There is a pizzeria right outside the apartment where we had our first poncha. Blandy’s winery is right around the corner so easy to get home after Madeiran wine tasting :) would definitely return!

Getoonde foto's op de Booking.com website, zijn niet conform wat wij gekregen hebben. Het uitzicht vanuit de woon- en slaapkamer erg bedroevend, Vanuit de woonkamer kijk je ook direct binnen het aan de overkant zijnde kantoorpand. Voor privacy moesten de gordijnen dicht blijven. Deze hingen op ook nog eens op half elf. Voor een stel is het appartement okay voor vrienden ontbreekt ruimte en privacy. Het doucheputje liep slecht door, dat was te zien aan het overlopende water van de douchebak de slaapkamer in. Zie foto hoe de deurpost eruit zag. In de douche zelf een dikke schimmelrand. In de keuken rook het gootsteen kastje naar schimmel, geen handdoek haakje om theedoek om te hangen. Geen gootsteen dop. Wasmachine in de service ruimte werkt niet, aantal malen aangekaart, werd niets meegedaan. Voordeur vertoonde kuren, werd niets meegedaan na diverse meldingen. En als laatste de herrie s avonds. Onder en naast het appartement bevinden zich restaurants die tot laat open zijn. Voor je rust en comfort hoef je hier niet te zijn.

Pictures shown are not in accordance with what we have received. The view from the living room and bedroom is very distressing. From the living room you also look directly into the office building across the street. The curtains had to be kept closed for privacy. These were also not hung up neatly. For a couple the apartment is okay, for friends it is lacking space and privacy. The shower drains very poorly, which results in overflowing water from the shower into the bedroom. In the shower itself a thick mold border was developed. In the kitchen the sink cabinet smelled badly of mold, no towel hook to hang a tea towel. No sink cap. Washing machine in the service area did not work, raised several times a complaint, nothing was done. Front door showed issues as well, nothing was done after various reports. And finally the noise at night. Below and next to the apartment are restaurants that are open until late. You don't have to be here for your peace and comfort.

Es ist angegeben, dass eine Geschirrspülmaschine vorhanden wäre. Das war leider nicht der Fall.
Man sollte auch etwas gegen den Schimmel am Türstock im Bad unternehmen - aber das ist ja oft so, wenn man nah am Meer ist.

Ansonsten wurde auf Anfragen sehr schnell reagiert. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich sehr schön und die Lage in Funchal ist sensationell.

Alles vorhanden, sehr wichtig: auch Kleinigkeiten wie Lappen (kein Spülmittel), Salz, Zucker, Kaffe, Essig, Öl…Toilettenpapier und Fön. Zwischenreinigung nach einer Woche, frische Handtücher inklusive (toll!!). Leider doch starke Geräuschentwicklung durch Autos und aufjaulende Motorräder auf Kopfsteinpflaster in der Nacht.

Die Location ist top! Man ist mitten im Zentrum von Funchal und hat zu allen Hauptpunkten nur wenige Minuten zu laufen. Wir hatten für einige Tage einen Mietwagen gebucht und hatten Bedenken bezüglich der Parkmöglichkeit. Tatsächlich gibt es in der Nähe blaue Parkzonen wo man zwischen 20:00 und 08:00 Uhr morgens kostenlos parken kann.
Das Apartment hat alles was man braucht, leider hat allerdings die angegebene Spülmaschine gefehlt. Beim Bad mangelte es leider an Sauberkeit, und auf Grund der Feuchtigkeit schimmelte der Türrahmen.
Die Lage und der easy Check-in machen diese Kleinigkeiten allerdings wieder wett.
Wir würden wieder kommen, hoffen aber dass man sich den Punkte „Sauberkeit“ zu Herzen nimmt.

Très bon emplacement dans le centre de Funchal ! L'appartement était spacieux et propre. La salle de services mises à disposition des locataires est très pratique pour laver et sécher son linge ! Merci encore.
Le seul bémol : Les rideaux ne sont pas totalement occultants, ce qui fait que la lumière passe encore lorsqu'ils sont fermés. On ne pouvait pas dormir dans le noir complet ni en journéee (lumière du jour) ni la nuit (lumière des réverbères).

Ce qui serait fantastique : avoir à disposition un câble HDMI pour la TV et quelques épices supplémentaires pour la cuisine.

Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral und ist sehr modern eingerichtet und sauber. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden was man so braucht.
Parkplätze in der Nähe zu finden ist fast unmöglich. Die Parkplatzsuche, für einen kostenpflichtigen Parkplatz, hat uns abends bis zu einer Stunde gekostet. Kostenlose Parkplätze gibt es gar keine.
Leider hat die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert und am Wochenende ist es nachts sehr laut draußen (zum Vergleich: ich bin sonst das Studentenwohnheim gewohnt).

The apartment is situated in the heart of funchal. It is bright, spacious and clean and has good amenities.
We were staying in apartment 2C We experienced loud noise from the apartment above our bedroom through the night. It sounded like Patio or bedroom furniture being dragged across the floor. This happened during most nights and effected our sleep. (Not sure if there is a patio area above the bedroom.) We contacted the staff on two occasions and were assured that the guests had been spoken to regarding the noise.

This is a good apartment. The bed is comfortable. There is plenty of hot water. Kitchen facilities are adequate. The location is excellent – convenient for all buses out of Funchal, large selection of eating places (from burger bar to fine dining) very nearby, reasonably convenient for food shopping, set amongst elegant streets with little traffic and open spaces. Some irritation with the air conditioning unit which ceased to function about halfway through our week (useful for fresh air at night without opening the window and letting in noise from early morning street cleaning/bin collection etc). But otherwise highly recommended.

Travel to Madeira were outstanding even before the holiday began. All questions were responded to promptly. They arranged my transfer from the airport to the apartment and even allowed me to check in earlier than the set 4pm for a small cost of 15 euros.
As promised the driver was waiting for me on my arrival at the airport (even though the flight was delayed) and Filipa was waiting for me at the apartment for my check in. Filipa was very welcoming, explaining where everything was in the apartment and how things worked. She confirmed she could be contacted anytime during my holiday.
The apartment itself was fantastic and had everything Iisted (and others not listed like an iron and an adaptor). It was very clean and there was spare bath towels/blankets in the walk in wardrobe. I found the bed very comfortable and the bedding was lovely. In the kitchen, there was everything promised including the basics; olive oil, salt and coffee. The supermarket in Le Vie Shopping centre is only a few minutes walk for any supplies needed.
I especially liked the code entry system for both the communal front door and the apartment door. So much easier and no need to worry about losing the keys.
There is a service room on the second floor which accommodates a washing machine and drier as well as recycling bins.
The location is great; walking distance from everything including the Cristiano Ronaldo museum, the marina and the cable cars which takes you to Monte (definitely recommend this).
There are a couple of restaurants downstairs; a hamburger place which serves burgers to die for and an Italian who do lovely pizzas. But you'll be spoilt for choice as there are restaurants galore locally.
I did not have any reason to connect Travel to Madeira during my holiday but it was reassuring to know they were available if needed. I was able to book my transfer back to the airport on their website without difficulties and the driver arrived on time.
I can not fault Travel to Madeira nor the apartment; both exceed my expectations. I normally stay in hotels when aboard but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the freedom of staying in an apartment especially as lovely as the one I stayed in. I would 100% recommend Travel to Madeira and the apartment. I will definitely be returning to Madeira and would definitely be staying here again without a doubt.

Had a lovely stay in Funchal , great place to stay next to everything, lovely restaurants and bars nearby , short walk to the marina. If we came again I wouldn’t do the red/green bus tour as didn’t find them great value there are lots of other tours more reasonable such as a Jeep tour or we would hire a car. Lovely stay thank you x

We had a problem with the WiFi that only got solved after a formal complain to Airbnb.
This is a company hosting several apartments very far from a proper Airbnb experience.
They should be on booking and not here.

Travel to Madeira made life super easy for us, from the extremely quick responses, the excellent airport transfer to the checking in process. The apartments are fantastic, loved that they have keyless entry and are in a great location. They are also very good value for money. Can't recommend enough, I would certainly stay here again if we make it back to Madeira.

Despite the road being closed to traffic on our arrival and, consequently, almost missing the building entrance, we had a wonderful time in Downtown Apartments.
Carolina took us through everything we needed to know within the apartment and informed us well and was super friendly (as were all Madeirans).
The location of the apartment is ideal - a gentle stroll down to the harbourside and in the heart of all local amenities.
Will certainly look to return there again

Great place to stay in Funchal. Central (8-10 minutes from the Marina). Clean. Good air- con. Good Wi-fi. Quiet at night.
The company that run it (Travel to Madeira) were efficient and always quick to reply to messages. The check in was easy and they let us in earlier than the official time.

The apartment itself is well equipped and looks newly renovated. Well equipped, access to a (common) washing machine and tumbler, with a regular ironing board and a decent iron. Kitchen equipped with the basics, TV with endless channels - and an HDMI interface. AC works wonders, bed is really good, which means rather hard - good this way! Very big storage, bathroom without daylight but good ventilation, big enough. Landlord states there is a "mini-fridge" - to us, this was a full sized refrigerator, with at regular freezing compartment. Microwave, coffee machine, water kettle, all there.
The house's location is great, easy walking distance to La Vie shopping mall with a huge supermercado, right behind Blandy's Madeira Wine Museum, and close to all the tourist spots. The cable car station is the farthest away, and still only 12 minutes walking.
The entire house consists of apartments like these. We did not hear much from the other tenants.
Yes, we would gladly return!

Our host, Filipa, was incredibly helpful in coordinating with our flight schedule, storing luggage, and airport transportation. The apartment is clean and is a very good value compared to other apartments in the area.

This apartment is in the center of everything. Downstairs is a good burger place, and around the corners are several bars along the water, parks, and steakhouses. My wife and I stayed here a full month and tried to live as "locally" as possible -- we got a private office at Cowork Funchal, gym memberships at 24/7 Fitness, and became regulars at more than a couple spots. The apartment was sparkling clean, had great natural light, and very cold (good!) air conditioning. Shower also great size and elevator in the building was a nice touch. Quiet at night, and nobody across the street (empty building) so you can walk around naked. :)

El apartamento está tal y como aparece en las fotografías. Quizás el nuestro un poco más pequeño.
Todo el mobiliario nuevo y de buen gusto. Cocina perfectamente equipada y todo muy limpio.
Nada de ruido, buena insonorización.
Quizás un solo juego toallas para 6 noches es poco.
Lo recomiendo sin duda.

The apartment was fabulous! Staff arranged a taxi from and to the airport, and Filipa welcomed us at a late hour. The location was the best part--on a quiet street that had lots of restaurants and shops. We could walk in 10 minutes to a bus connection and the main avenue along the water. The apartment served us very well for nine days, and we would highly recommend it. Having free laundry facilities was also a plus. 😃

+ reasonable sized apartment for 2 people with lift access
+ plenty of hot water all the time
+ bed reasonably comfortable
+ Good city location close to restaurants, supermarket and other shops
+ Fast & competent response from Managing agent to rectify minor deficiencies after our arrival
But:
- Uninspiring view across narrow street to abandoned properties
- Settee/bed in lounge uncomfortable to sit on as the seat slips outwards
- Poor quality chinaware just plain white, heavy and too few items. e.g.just 2 wine glasses; 2 medium mugs so always washing up!
- Kitchen cupboards sited too high; wife unable to reach items on top shelves
- insufficient small tables for use beside bed and in lounge
- big negative: guests in ground floor Italian restaurant talking/laughing each evening until past midnight
- another negative: Restaurant staff started at 07:00 to layout tables and chairs with much scraping on pavement and loud talking between them!

We had a lovely stay at this apartment and were very impressed with how professional Travel to Madeira were. They responded very quickly and even helped us to pre-book a taxi. Even though we were arriving late, Filipa was on hand to welcome us at the apartment.

The apartment itself is modern and clean and also very central. It is perfect for a couple or two friends without a car who are exploring Madeira.

El apartamento es exactamente como aparece en las fotos. Muy bien situado, moderno y cerca de comercios y restaurantes. La cocina está muy bien equipada e incluso hay algún "condimento" que otros huespedes han dejado (sal, azúcar, aceite...).

Apartment is situated in a very central location. We arrived from the airport by bus and got off at number six which was a short walk to the apartment. The apartment was situated on the second floor with a lift and was exactly as the description. It’s a lovely clean compact apartment. Great kitchen area with table to eat at, super big shower and comfy bed. Two double windows opening onto the street below give lots of light. We arranged to meet FILIPA from the airport and she was there on time outside the apartment. She was very helpful and as our departure flight was in the evening she gave us extended time in the apartment. Overall a very good stay and one I would recommend.

Um local excelente para passar uns dias na Madeira. Localização muito central, perto da marina e de vários pontos de interesse. O apartamento é novo, está em ótimo estado e fomos muito bem recebidos. Viajámos com um bebé e tiveram o cuidado de providenciar berço, cadeira e banheira. Recomendo vivamente!

If you are looking for a super cute, incredibily cleean and well-located place to spend your holidays, this apartment is the place to be. Step outside the building, and you have a quiet, no-cars street lines with bistros and restaurants and lovely shops. A two-minute walk takes you to the center of town and the main avenue, with all the main attractions. If you have a car, there is parking for Five Euros a day near the train station. Best of all, Francesco is a text away with expert, local advice. He even arranged our return taxi to the airport for a fraction of what it cost to hire a taxi. We can't wait to return.

If you are looking for a super clean, modern apartment in a fantastic location, this is the perfect place. We spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed the many restaurants and shops right outside our door. Francesco is the perfect host, and was so helpful with getting us acquainted with the neighborhood. The Travel to Madeira apartment was a perfect place for us. Francisco was there to welcome us and provide information and suggestions as well as give us a lovely description of what to expect in Funchal and on Madeira at large, and he was absolutely right. The apartment was well arranged, very clean, and had all the conveniences we needed. Also, it was in a pleasant area right in town. Much we wanted to do was easy to walk to and other experiences were made easy because of ready access to excellent public transportation. Communication with the host was very good and timely. Sehr schönes Apartment! Sehr zentrale Lage an einer Straße und über einigen Restaurants gelegen. Dadurch kann es schon mal etwas lauter sein. Für Ausflüge eine guter Ausgangspunkt, zum reinen Entspannungsurlaub eher nicht geeignet.

Very vice apartment, helpful staff, very clean and very handy for the restaurants etc. Only negative was that there was quite a lot of noise during the day from work going on across the road renovating apartments. Overall, I would recommend.

Appartement extrêmement bien situé dans le centre de Funchal approximité de tout ( restaurant, bord de mer, taxi et site à visiter ).
L'appartement est suffisamment spacieux, simplement aménager mais avec goût.
De plus il est parfaitement équipé.
nous recommandons fortement cet appartement pour un voyage à Madère.

Great accommodation in the heart of Funchal. Near the cathedral and museo sacre de arte. Also near a lot of restaurants and shops. The accommodation itself is modern and efficient. The best place to start a visit to the wonderful capital of madeira.
