Inoltre l'host propone consigli su ogni aspetto della vacanza e sono consigli preziosi per chi va la prima volta nell'isola. L'appartamento è come nelle foto, nuovo, pulito e con tutti i comfort descritti.
Se proprio vogliamo trovare un piccolissimo difetto: i cuscini potrebbero essere più comodi,ma è un parere estremamente oggettivo.

This was a lovely apartment with a big problem which should have been fixed before we arrived. We had to wait days for a response to a hygiene issue and eventually found alternative accommodation.
Once this major leak is sorted it would be a fabulous place to stay.

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans cet appartement. La situation géographique est parfaite, les principales attractions de Funchal peuvent se faire directement à pied et il y a plusieurs arrêts d'autobus à proximité. On trouve toutes les commodités à distance de marche (resto, épiceries, boutiques, etc).
On a aussi beaucoup aimé la rapidité et l'efficacité de l'équipe du service à la clientèle. Chaque fois qu'on a eu une question, ils nous ont répondu en moins d'une heure. D'ailleurs, on a eu un petit problème avec la toilette et l'équipe de maintenance est arrivée dans l'heure qui a suivi.
On réserverait assurément à nouveau à cet endroit si on revenait à Madère.

Where to start, a stunning property both inside and out, in a fantastic, quiet location, only a short walk from the centre of Funchal. This apartment is worth every penny.
The apartment is bright and open, a welcome change to some of the small cramped apartments around. It has all the facilities you need whether self catering or not. The air-conditioning was incredibly welcome given some of the weather we had.
The balcony is secluded and very spacious, a nice place to relax at the end of the day. It also doubles as a good place for drying towels after going for a swim.
Access to the property is really easy and it's easy to access taxis and Bolts of required.
The communication from Filipe at An Island Apart was very responsive too.

Beautiful home in a great location. Host was very responsive. The pictures are very accurate and I loved staying here. However I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bathroom is very small and cramp. Also taking a star off because the instructions to get into the unit was incorrect. They sent the wrong access code. A problem I often encounter when dealing with management companies instead of an owner directly. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and the location cant be beat.

We spent a great week at this Airbnb. We booked last minute so we were not 100% sure what to expect but the location was perfect. This apartment is situated in the Old Town with some of the best restaurants just minutes away. We tried pretty much all of the restaurants on the street from Indian (The India Gate was one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to) to Italian.
The Airbnb was well appointed with everything you could need for a weeklong stay. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked extremely well. The TV had lots of English speaking channels which is always a bonus. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the building too. This is on the 2nd floor.
The hosts were extremely responsive, whenever we had a question they responded within an hour.
We would definitely stay here again.

Foi a minha primeira experiência com um airBnB cuidado por uma empresa, então estranhei um pouco não ser recebida pessoalmente, com carinho e dicas. A gnt se sente um pouco abandonada. Mas tudo funcionou a contento. Só percebi 3 coisas a melhorar: o apartamento tá muito “ pelado” tipo: só tem 3 xícaras, 3 pratinhos, 3 copos, 2 travesseiros, e assim por diante. Se for alugado p 4 pessoas, vai faltar!
O sofá cama já viu dias melhores e e desconfortável p sentar.
E eu perguntei no dia anterior da chegada se poderia guardar as malas antes do checking, disseram q não e tudo bem. Mas qdo cheguei no Predio tive q perguntar por e-mail como entrar, e esperar na rua com malas, pq não havia ninguém p me receber e as senhas de acesso me foram passadas por e-mail depois q eu disse q estava na rua.
As senhas poderiam ter sido passadas no dia anterior, p facilitar.
Mas nada disso comprometeu a estadia.
Recomendo.

The shower was awkward and very small opening. you had to squish your whole body into the corner in order to close the shower door. The shower leaked onto the floor because the door seals need replacing.

It is located in the very centre of Funchal which is good for dining out, but overall I would recommend to stay a bit further out from the city center as it is very hard to park in the center, and the airbnb doesn’t come with a reserved parking space. I stayed in another Airbnb in Funchal 20 mins walking distance from the city centre with a parking space that I found much more convenient for day trips.
I would also note that this airbnb had thin walls (we were able to hear the wake up alarm of our neighbours) and it is very difficult to shower without water leaking to the floor which is annoying.
Pros: very smooth check in/out, and good communication with the airbnb manager.

Excellent location right in the heart of the older part of Funchal. The apartment building was secure and safe and quiet at night. All amenities were close by and many attractions were on our doorstep. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. We usually book apartments rather than hotels and this was one of the best we have stayed at for size and value. We even booked one of the two in the building with a balcony and I would recommend this.

The bed was a little hard but that is personal and some people may like it.

Não gostei: máquina de café de filtro (devia ter uma máquina de café expresso), varanda pouco equipada (justificava-se a existência de umas cadeiras de relaxe), lençóis com aspeto de demasiado usados (deviam ser substituídos) e faltou sabonete para mãos e papel higiénico.
Não gostei mesmo: da falta de cortina de "blackout" da porta junto à "kitchenette" (apesar de ter solicitado a verificação antes do início da estadia para 3 pessoas). Contatei um colaborador da AIA e este, apesar de dizer me contactaria para resolver o problema, nunca o fez. A situação foi remediada no dia seguinte, ao encontráramos a cortina, sem grampos, na arrecadação. Retiramos alguns grampos de outra cortina e improvisamos.

very well organized check-in process, the cleaning ladies allowed me to leave my luggage at the entrance as I was just moving from another apartment in the same building. The apartments in this building are spotless cleaned, the cleaning team is doing a fantastic job! Quiet bedroom and large and bright living room.
Negative:
This apartment is a bit colder as it does not get a lot of direct sunlight and I found that I had to keep the heating on most of the day, but it was also a bit colder in Funchal at that time. The sower needs to be properly taken care of, they've added a lot of silicon to try to fix it but it is still leaking. The terrace should also be cleaned once in a while as it looked a bit neglected. The wall paint needs some refreshing and since there is space it might not be a bad idea to add a dishwasher. Nevertheless, I did find both of the apartments in this building to be some of the best places to stay in Funchal.

Three things are vital when travelling: 1) having good wifi, 2) having a quiet room and 3) having a comfortable bed. This accommodation did not provide any of these things. The wifi kept dropping out and completely vanished for 3 days. The noise heard from other apartments was a complete joke. We were on the third floor and could hear every time the front door opened on level 0 as well as every other time someone came or left each apartment. We heard babies crying all night and loud bangs frequently from above us. We had to sleep with a white noise app on our phones. We also found the bed so small that my husband slept on the sofa bed. If a company cannot provide these three basics, it can never be a good accommodation.

They were great. When issues arise, they were fast and helpful to solve the problem quickly. The location was amazing, the place was perfect. The terrace was wonderful. I had to leave earlier than planned and they were accommodating and understanding. Overall, a wonderful stay and would recommend again and again.

Check-In und die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber waren unkompliziert und reibungslos.
Die Wohnung ist wie auf den Bildern gezeigt.
Die Küche bietet alles, was man braucht. Wir haben uns besonders über den Kaffee gefreut.

The only real issue is the bathroom, as you can’t avoid the shower flooding the floor when you get in it, and it just never dries so even using a bath mat the floor is permanently wet. Not a problem for a few days, but would be annoying in a longer stay.

Very spacious, firm bed (which I like), clean, modern and simple decor abd huge balcony. May not get a lot of direct sun in winter (faces north) but a lovely view of mountains and the weather is warm enough to sit outside anyway. Great street with cafes and bars but virtually no cars as part -pedestrianised.

The flat is in a secure building with a lift. Our flat had a large patio with decent views. The location is absolutely superb. There is enough light in the flat from both bedroom and the lounge. Kitchen is well equipped. There is a washer/dryer in the common area - very clean. Decently comfy bed with synthetic pillows. I think the flat is a great value for money. Communications with the host were prompt. Late checkout is available for €20.

L’appartement est vaste, propre, bien équipé et incroyablement situé. Les grandes portes vitrées qui donnent accès à la grande terrasse ajoutent de la lumière et celle-ci offre un espace de vie supplémentaire qui n’est pas à négliger.
On y a passé un mois entier et on n’a pas regretté notre choix de logement.

Cozy and comfortable apartment in the middle of downtown. The location couldn’t be better - everything is just around the corner, but still it’s quiet in the night time. We loved to sit on the balcony before dinner and watch the sun set behind the roofs.

The location of this apartment could not have been better! It’s just around the corner from a beautiful garden square, The Ritz (which does amazing and well priced breakfasts - shame the London one can’t!). There are lots of great restaurants on to doorstep and only a 5 min walk from the famous Blandys wine house, the old town with more amazing restaurants and the water front, a large park and all the travel pick ups!
The flat is HUGE! So you can make yourself fully at home. The terrace balcony is almost as big! It’s in the shade in the afternoons, but the old town roofs and old castle still make the view nice.
Really great value and will definitely book again if lucky enough to go back to Madeira again!

We stayed in Downtown, apartment 3a. It’s a spacious apartment with a lovely roof terrace, on a great street for restaurants in the evening, and very central so perfect for getting local buses out for day walks. Everything was perfect for our week long stay. Very comfortable bed, quiet location, modern interior design, well-appointed, very relaxing. Loved it!

Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre semaine dans l'appartement. Spacieux, lumineux, bien équipé calme et très propre, en plein coeur de Funchal. Le petit + : les Tupperware mis à disposition nous ont été très utiles pour les randos!
Accueil et communication impeccables. Je recommande et repasserai par Travel To Madeira la prochaine fois.

It's a magnificent apartment, truly in the heart of Funchal, on one of the beautiful city streets. The apartment is very stylish, light, spacious, clean, exactly the same as on the photos. It has a big terrace with a nice view over the city roofs and Fortaleza do Pico, a beautiful and very cozy bedroom (to have a wonderful rest after walking the island's levadas :) ) and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including a very good wi-fi. The location - you couldn't ask for better, as you will find all you need just behind the door. The bus stops, to explore the island, are five-ten minutes walk away. The communication was also great, we had an early flight in the morning and were allowed to check in just upon our arrival to Funchal. Everything made our stay enjoyable and convenient. Highly recommend this apartment and the host!

This place was well furnished and lovely. At one point, the battery on the keypad died and I got locked out, and they were quick to fix it and problem solve. They were super responsive to any and all of my needs and questions. The bed was great, the location was perfect. I would highly recommend and stay again if I return to Madeira!

The Downtown apartment was in an excellent location with local attractions and amenities on the doorstep. The apartment itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was in a nice area, felt safe and was very clean. In comparison to other apartments we have stayed in around Europe, this one was quite large and excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend any of the apartments in this building.

Gostei: da localização, do espaço interior, da varanda (virada a norte, mais fresca), da limpeza, do sossego e da acessibilidade.
Não gostei: máquina de café de filtro (devia ter uma máquina de café expresso), varanda pouco equipada (justificava-se a existência de umas cadeiras de relaxe), lençóis com aspeto de demasiado usados (deviam ser substituídos) e faltou sabonete para mãos e papel higiénico.
Não gostei mesmo: da falta de cortina de "blackout" da porta junto à "kitchenette" (apesar de ter solicitado a verificação antes do início da estadia para 3 pessoas). Contatei um colaborador da AIA e este, apesar de dizer me contactaria para resolver o problema, nunca o fez. A situação foi remediada no dia seguinte, ao encontráramos a cortina, sem grampos, na arrecadação. Retiramos alguns grampos de outra cortina e improvisamos.

Stayed for a week before moving up the coast to a house that's managed by the same company. Absolutely loved the fact that it's the top floor of the building with a massive patio to enjoy breakfast and dinner outside. The apartment is clean and close to just about everything needed for a comfortable stay. There's a large shopping centre 4-6 minute walk away, and plenty of restaurants in the area to have a quick snack or dinner. Will be coming back for a longer stay!
