Completely renovated house, with two floors and terrace, in the historic area of the city. Perfect for a couple or small families, near the beach and several points of interest to visit in Funchal.

Casa Caetano is a property with two floors, recently renovated, located in the historic centre (Old Town) of Funchal, a few minutes walk from São Tiago Beach.

This house accommodates 4 people, having on the first floor a common bathroom with shower, a bedroom with double bed, a work space and balcony, and a sofa bed, in the living room. There are two living areas with cable TV. The kitchen, located on the second floor, is fully equipped and provides a dining area, interconnecting with a small living area that gives access to a large and pleasant terrace. This outdoor space has sea view and cable car view, ideal to enjoy a meal outdoors.

Wi-Fi is available in all areas.

AREA
The property is located in the oldest part of Funchal, a 5-minute walk from the Lavradores Market and 10-15 minutes from the marina. For beach lovers, there are different options in the Funchal area, the closest to the house is São Tiago beach. It is close to other points of interest such as: the Funchal-Monte cable car, museums, esplanades, gardens, supermarkets, pharmacies, hairdressers, CTT, shops, bakeries, restaurants, night bars.
In the city centre there is plenty of information about all kinds of activities you can do during your holidays: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!

GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.

INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Es war einfach ein wunderschönes Haus und die Lage war auch super !! Direkt in der Zona Velha. Morgens und abends konnte man schön auf dem Balkon sitzen und hatte schon den ersten Blick die Gasse herunter aufs Meer. Unten gab es noch ein Geschäft direkt nebenan in dem es Edelsteine und Räucherwerk zu kaufen gab. Sie war sehr freundlich, ist auf jeden Fall auch ein Besuch wert für Liebhaber 😊.
Alles in allem kehren wir gerne nochmal wieder zurück !

Spacious and fresh apartment in the center of Funchal. Very well equipped kitchen and lovely large terrace. The location is very central in the old part of Funchal. Many restaurants nearby so you can hear the street life.

We’ve stayed nearby before so we knew the area well , the apartment was fine , eventually found the washing machine which was outside on the veranda . Lots of kitchen eqpt including a coffee pot and Nespresso maker . When the storm hit midweek we had some water come in under the French doors but no big issue . We had to contact the host since the washing machine filter was totally blocked with gravel and plastic - I sorted it out myself , host apologised . Overall it’s a lovely apartment with great facilities, the veranda was a real bonus .

I would highly recommend this apartment. Good value for money, with excellent facilities, and very clean. We stayed for 13 nights and appreciated the change of towels and bedsheets half way through holiday.
We especially enjoyed the Terrace. The location of the apartment in the old part of Funchal meant you were close to all the main attractions, with many restaurants close by, but as some previous guests have mentioned there is some noise at night, but it did not affect us sleeping. Maybe in the summer months with the window open it may be more of an issue.

We would book this apartment again should we return to Funchal.

Petite maison en plein centre de Funchal, très bien équipée et fonctionnelle. La grande terrasse est très agréable.
Très bonne communication avec l'hôte, toujours disponible et réactif. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la corbeille de fruits à notre arrivée.
Possibilité de garer une voiture à 5min à pied r. Jaime Moniz (quelques places gratuites). Petite supérette au coin de la rue. Petit bar/resto typique Bela 5 snack bar au coin de la rue également, très bon rapport qualité/prix et moins touristique que la plupart des restaurants dans le quartier.
Le quartier est calme. A partir de 7h30 il y a de la circulation dans la rue derrière, ce n'est pas gênant si vous dormez dans la chambre qui est bien isolée. Si vous dormez dans le canapé lit sur le palier vous pouvez être gênés par le bruit.
Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ce logement!

Läget på boendet var väldigt bra. Gillade också terassen. Och att det var fräscht och nyrenoverat i lägenheten och välstädat.
Ytterdörren var oisolerad, så ljudet från gatan gick rakt in. Eftersom bäddsoffan står i hallen på plan två - och det är öppet upp i trappan från entren så gick ljudet från gatan rakt upp till det "sovrummet" och störde de som sov där.

Unterkunft war wie beschrieben und auf den Fotos.
Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Die Kommunikation war einwandfrei und sehr freundlich.
Man muss sich lediglich bewusst sein, dass man mitten in der Altstadt wohnt, wo sich viele Restaurants befinden und es Abends/Nachts auch mal etwas lauter werden kann.

God beliggenhed, dog en ret trafikeret vej. Badeværelset var meget fugtigt selvom udsugningen kørte i land tid efter badet. Samt kom der vand ind fra terrassedørene da det regnede.

Super séjour .... emplacement n°1 dans la vieille ville ... juste à côté du téléphérique, à quelques pas de la mer et de la station de bus ... appartement totalement rénové ... tout était parfait. Un petit bémol pour la literie ; dommage que le lit n'était pas en 160 avec un matelas un peu plus ferme ... et voir également la pression de l'eau dans la douche ... A part ça ... à recommander les yeux fermés.

Booking, checking - in and out was a piece of cake. The location was so perfect for sightseeing in Funchal and was very easy to get a taxis or a lift to tours. An Island Apart also provided us with so many options for tours, which we booked at the literal last minute and they still accommodated a wonderful day trip around the island. The home was very clean and we had every single thing we needed. I would recommend 100 times!! We love Madeira and An Island Apart!!!

Très bel appartement sur 3 niveau en centre ville; seul bémol est le bruit le soir si vous souhotez dormir avant 23h, pas possible d'ouvrir la fenêtre de la chambre donnant sur la rue passante et pas de climatisation, il y fait très chaud.
Solution laissé la porte de la cambre ouverte, mais l'insonorisation n'étant pas assez importante, la cage d'escalier fait caisse de résonance.

Sinon, l'appartement est très bien, bel terrasse, hôtels réactif et accueillant
Comme indiqué une double porte à l'entrée permettais certainement de diminuer tr§s fortement les nuisances sonores

We had a wonderful time in this apartment in Funchal. It's right in the centre, so you can always find something to do nearby or a transfer to somewhere else on the island. The amenities are of great quality and the rooms were spotless. In the middle of our stay, they even changed the linens and cleaned the house a bit.
Even with the bustling centre right out your door, with the well-insulated place and air-conditioning, a good night sleep here wasn't too difficult. We even caught a huge firework show, right from our terrace.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in super zentraler Lage in der Nähe der Seilbahn. Schöne, moderne Einrichtung, tolle Terrasse und gute Handtücher.
Es gab eine Zwischenreinigung.
Allerdings ist der Nachteil der zentralen Lage, dass es abends/nachts sehr laut ist. Die Musik einer nahegelegenen Bar ist so laut, dass man die Fenster im Schlafzimmer schließen muss. Da dieses Zimmer keine Klimaanlage hat, ist es dadurch relativ warm im Schlafzimmer.

Great location in terms of things to do in the immediate area. Good location for restaurants, supermarket, bus station etc. The only downside to the location was the noise on the Friday and Saturday evenings, the rest of the time it was fine for me.

The kitchen had lots of utensils, cups, dishwasher, toaster etc everything you would expect. However, only two dishwasher tablets were left for the entire week and only one spare garbage bag. The kitchen/fridge didn't smell fresh when we arrived.

Lovely terrace area.

Good Wi-Fi and TV that you could watch Netflix etc.

The bed and pillows were not comfortable. Pillows were poor quality and hard, so was the mattress. Small bugs in the bedroom on the dressing table, they were also in the bathroom.

Plenty of room to hang clothes. Plug sockets by the bed.

The bathroom shower cubicle didn't feel or look clean. Lack of towels for the entire week.

Booked a transfer but it was late arriving.

Accommodation didn't quite meet my expectations.

We stayed at this property for 3 weeks in April this year Excellent Location, near all old town Bars and restaurants easy access to City Centre and Markets, promenade.Property in very good condition, Clean and all appliances and furnishings modern, customer service was excellent extremely helpful and friendly orgainsed airport pick up was on time, especially as our flight had been delayed by 16 hours due to poor weather conditions when trying to land in Funchal.We would certainly recommend this Property and (Island apart) to other potential Clients. Die Wohnung ist genauso schön, wie auf den Fotos. Alles neu und sehr sauber. Liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war perfekt. Die Schlafcouch ist sehr gemütlich. Die Wohnung liegt in einer Seitenstraße der Restaurantmeile. Wer gut essen gehen möchte ist in einer Minute versorgt. Der Weg in die Innenstadt dauert zehn Minuten. Ein Parkplatz für 5 € am Tag ist drei Minuten entfernt. (Amazonia Parkplatz -
Parque de estacionamento da Amazónia)
Allerdings ist es durch die zentrale Lage auch etwas laut. Vor allem eine Bar in der Straße war an einem unserer beiden Wochenenden extrem laut. Um zwei Uhr nachts wummerten noch die Bässe durchs Haus. Die Haustür ist nicht schallisoliert, so dass gerade auf der Schlafcouch alle Straßengeräusche hörbar sind.

Good location (if you want to be in Central Funchal). Host was very responsive prior to check-in but check-in wasn’t until 4pm and then had to wait until 4:30pm for the cleaners to finish. Wifi didn’t work half of the time and was slow otherwise. Space was accurate vs photos. Would recommend if they sorted the Wifi out.

Perfect location. Very attractive and useful rooftop terrace with a view to the sea. The apartment is newly renovated with a very good quality and everything worked perfect. Cleaning and shift of linings once a week.

So schön die Lage ist, so laut ist es leider durch die nahegelegene Hausptstraße, die enge Gasse, in der es sehr hallt und die umliegenden Restaurants. Aber die Fenster verfügen dafür über eine gute Schalldämmung. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern
ist relativ wenig zu hören.

Een zeer mooi en compleet appartement gelegen in het centrum van Funchal. Bij een eventuele nieuwe vakantie naar Madeira zouden wij dit appartement zeker opnieuw boeken. Nadeel dat het appartement gelegen ligt aan voor autoverkeer drukke doorgaande straat. Dit gaf best veel geluidsoverlast in de slaapkamer en was het haast niet mogelijk om het raam in de avond of nacht open te kunnen laten staan. Contactpersoon was niet bereikbaar of reageerde niet op Whatsapp contact, terwijl ze dit wel wordt aangegeven als 24/7 contact. Later is ons probleem via berichten airbnb site snel en goed opgelost.

Lovely clean and modern apartment. Great location for restaurants and for exploring Funchal. Excellent restaurant next to apartment “Taberna Madeira” great value and fab food. It is in a busy area and there is some street noise but it didn’t disturb us at night, even at the weekend. Lovely terrace is a bonus. We had a hire car but parking was not a problem we used a car park just up the road which was €8 for 24hrs. Would highly recommend this apartment.

town - lots to do on the doorstep, good transport routes and an abundance of restaurants down the street. If you hire a car there is public parking 5/10 minutes walk so not an issue!! Worth noting the restaurant below the apartment is very good if you have a chance to pop in too!

This is a beautiful airbnb in a great location with a wonderful deck!

The hosts were communicative and everything was walkable ( just a few minutes away from the cable car!)

A few things - it is right next to a very busy road with lots of car noise and pedestrian noise. Ear plugs/ noise canceling machines are a must.

The beds aren’t the most comfortable - not a total deterrent, but something to note for future bookings!

We have stayed all over the world. This is one of the best we have stayed in. The place is recently renovated and everything is new. If you like to be in the action Old Town is very cool. Everything closes about 1:30a so it is not noisy all night. We were here in February and the deck was awesome. Faces Southwest very warm for sunbathing. 63F in Funchal. 75F on the deck. Mini mart around the corner. Great restaurant below us (Taberna Madeira). Friendly staff great home cooked food. Do not go to restaurants that try to drag you in off the street or have pictures of the food outside. La ao Fundo was also excellent!! Don’t think about it. Book it!!

We really enjoyed the Apartment - it was very comfortable and the host was responsive. The host left treats for us which was really nice and the kitchen had everything we needed. Great location for getting around the old town! We walked everywhere with ease. The street is indeed very loud throughout most nights, but with windows shut it blocks it out a bit. I’d also warn the bed is not comfortable at all, but fine. Doesn’t come with basics in the kitchen to cook but there’s coffee! It’s a lovely stay and the restaurant below is yummy :)

In all a great place for a week away! Right in the heart of the old town.
I was a little concerned as others have mentioned a night club making noise all night. But it wasn’t so bad. The bedroom has double glazing doors plus a further glazed door. There was little noise from the tacky bar down the road and only at the weekend and in my experience staying in the old town there will always be noise until late. Then early morning when they drive through with all the service vehicles the noise starts again.
Apartment was lovely. All new appliances and good quality too.
Sitting on the terrace you catch the afternoon and evening sun. No sea view but nice still.

Excellent location close to many good restaurants and the cable car terminus.
Better check-in arrangements for leaving luggage for those arriving on early flights.
Wi-Fi didn’t work well on the patio area as the box was located on the first floor - could it be relocated to the upper floor as this is the main location where wi-fi was needed?
Fan/Ac would be helpful in the bedroom as it was very warm and the windows couldn’t be fully opened otherwise privacy from the adjacent property would be compromised.

We loved this tiny House in the middle of the Old-Town of Funchal. It was spacious and very modern. You just need to step out of the house and you are in the middle of the people. Perfect for everyone, who loves to be close to vibrant life.

The property has recently been refurbished and the interior is lovely. It is located right in the heart of the Old Town and has plenty of good restaurants nearby. The terrace is a great place to relax with a drink! Unfortunately our stay was spoilt by the fact that the street outside and the surrounding area is very noisy at night, mainly due to traffic (every night, not just the weekend). There is no soundproofing in the bedroom so it makes it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

The appartment is great, newly renovated with great terrace. Everything is at your hand - beach, bus station, shops, restaurants. It is in the only town so there is a nice atmospehere. We basically took a bus or taxi to get around the island. The walks around the levadas are breathtaking, the nature is just so amazing. There are also concerts in the city centre, so you can enjoy culture life as well. However, you have to take into account that the location is in the center and is not so quiet. Anyhow I really recommend this place.

the house is in the best location possible and is really cozy. highly recommend for a trip in Funchal

there is no fan or a/c in the bedroom but it was cool enough for us at night but I do know some people can't sleep without it

This is an excellent flat, clean, well equipped and easy to get to anything in Funchal.
But. I would not recommend anyone who likes to go to sleep before 2:30 am to stay here on weekends. Some kind of club across the (very narrow) street plays LOUD music till 2:30, and the guests are drunk, loud and shouty. This is not one or two rowdy guests at a nearby restaurant, it is an ongoing racket till the small hours. For us, it went on till 2:20 two nights out of seven plus another night till past midnight.
If you like staying out late, or if you are staying just during the week, this may not be a problem for you, but at least now you know.
We have informed the landlord and suggested they have a word with the neighbour, or at least warn guests off/give them a number to call if things get out of hand.

Très joli appartement, idéalement placé dans Funchal et parfaitement équipé. La terrasse avec vue sur le téléphérique est très agréable. Seule ombre au tableau : un bar un peu plus loin dans la rue est très bruyant les fins de semaines, boules quies conseillées si vous avez le sommeil léger !

Charmantes Haus zum Wohlfühlen in bester Lage mit Top Ausstattung und wunderschöner Terrasse, sogar mit einem Hauch von Meerblick! Alles in nächster Umgebung: Restaurants, Strand, Cable Car, Supermärkte, Markt, Parkgarage, Öffis,.. einfach unschlagbar! Wir waren begeistert! Wirklich empfehlenswert, tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
Zu bedenken sind angrenzende Lokale, die an den Wochenenden durstige Gäste bewirten, die dabei sehr viel Spaß haben, ... was bis in die frühen Morgenstunden zu hören ist... für Nachteulen der absolute Treffer!
