Apartment (T1) in a historic building that, in the past, was a cultural space of high importance in Funchal, having over a time functioned as a cinema. This building with three floors addresses a decoration with different themes of some of the great classics of the seventh art.
This flat is located on floor 1 of a former cultural space, now fully renovated, transformed and decorated with details that highlight the Scandinavian/Avant-garde (Dogville) Style.
The decoration has been thought out in detail and combines cultural elements with the most sought after in a travel context: practicality, modernity and comfort.
This property has capacity to accommodate 4 people. It offers a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom with shower, a living room with sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, in open space.
The building has a common entrance to all the properties and is located in Rua Ivens, behind the Funchal Municipal Garden, one of the main arteries of the city.

Building located in Rua Ivens, behind the Municipal Garden of Funchal and 1 minute walk from the Municipal Theatre Baltazar Dias. From this building you can get to know and visit on foot the main points of interest of the capital of Madeira Island. It is close to restaurants, shopping centres, bars, museums, the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Marina, Santa Catarina Park.
In the city centre there is plenty of information about all sorts of activities you can do during your holiday: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Absolutely astonishing. Great for family. Probably greatest location in Funchal. Hypermarket 2-5 minutes from apartment. Central street and landmarks 2-5 minutes. Parking for free in 15 minutes walk distance from apartment (google Rue do Alto do Pico street). Wi-fi great. Could work from there fluent. Host - helpful. Playground for children in the park nearby with the great views and facilities (Parque de Santa Catarina).

We stayed here with our mums, and it was perfect for everyone! There was plenty of space, so we all felt comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the bathroom was massive. The location was fantastic, close to a shopping mall, but surprisingly quiet. It was also really convenient having a large supermarket nearby. Overall, a fantastic place for a family stay – highly recommend!

Disorganized management company-we were told one address/unit on Airbnb listing then another address/unit on their own webpage for checkin info. On 2nd day the keypad to get in bldg didn’t work and we were only able to get in when a French couple showed up after 5 minutes and they had the same problem (going on 20 minutes for them and their instructions sent them to a totally different bldg at first and they went into that other bldg and unit and walked into another family in their Airbnb). Not sure how long we would have waited if it wasn’t for the French couple who somehow had the contact for the mgmt co (I couldn’t find that contact info). Otherwise the unit was fairly dirty when we arrived (albeit on short notice because our flight out of Madeira was cancelled) with dirt on floor and dirty fridge. Bathroom faucet was detached from counter & toilet seat was partially undone (so you had to mess with seat to get it straight), and also missing laundry detergent and drying rack.

Great location, decent apartment and responsive host. The bed wasn’t comfortable and the apartment gets quite hot I think they need to consider putting an a.c unit in the bedroom or a larger hanging fan above the bed which is quieter than the small portable fans they have as they don’t do much and are a bit loud.
You can’t beat the location and the apartment itself is equipped well for your stay .

Firstly, the positives. Nice, clean and tidy apartment in a great, central but quiet location. All of Funchal’s attractions are within comfortable walking distance. The airport shuttle - AEROBUS is only a 3min walk away (stop 7, La Vie). If needed, local buses or taxis are very nearby also. The apartment has all amenities required but no welcome pack. The apartment does have the bonus of a washing machine but nowhere to apparently dry/hang clothes which was surprising. Shower was great.
The host was excellent, communication was very responsive and helpful.
Now for the negative, the bed and sofa in the apartment are both very uncomfortable and detracts from the experience. The bed mattress is relatively thin and both my partner and I could feel the springs continuously. The bed frame itself was noisy and felt very rickety. Throughout our stay we never had a comfortable nights sleep which for a break to rest and relax was a real shame. Other reviews have similar experiences.

O espaço é tal e qual como está descrito, acolhedor, bem equipado, de fácil acesso e tem uma excelente localização para quem procura estar no centro do Funchal. A nível de estacionamento, não é o ideal, tendo em conta que não tem estacionamento privado e em toda a área envolvente, o estacionamento é Pago. Tivemos um pequeno problema com a televisão, não funcionava a 100%, falámos com a equipa de gestão do espaço, enviaram 2 pessoas ao local para tentar resolver, mas infelizmente não conseguiram, tendo em conta a situação tomaram a liberdade de fazer a devolução de 10% do valor pago pelo constrangimento causado, atitude que valorizámos bastante. De um modo geral, aconselho!

Great location and the first impression was positive assuming you can find the apartment. No instructions.
Needs attention. The windows could do with a good clean. The cooker had just two burners and it was difficult with the frying pan supplied to use both burners.
The second pillows were awful and uncomfortable and the bed was uncomfortable. The sofa had seen better days and was torn.
Finally, on a positive note the bathroom was delightful and the shower magnificent.

El apartamento es muy bonito y confortable, de arquitectura minimalista bien lograda igual que su interiorismo. Si equipamiento también es bastante acertado, lástima que no contenga un microondas o una plancha para grillar.

Fantastische plek midden in het centrum. Groot genoeg voor twee personen. Alles was netjes. De apparaten werkten. Mooie badkamer. Bed was aan de harde kant, maar prima geslapen. Winkelcentrum en restaurants in de buurt. Dichtbij de haven en openbaar vervoer. Het appartement grenst aan een binnenplaats. Je hoort daardoor geen verkeer, alleen af en toe wat (hard) pratende mensen. De zon schijnt de hele dag op de ramen. Daardoor wordt het binnen snel warm. Het is moeilijk om het appartement te koelen. Maar verder prima plek. De host reageerde snel.

Skvělé ubytování v centru Funchalu. I přes své umístění člověk nepocítil jakýkoliv ruch a shon města - byt měl velmi soukromé zázemí. Vkusně zařízený a čistý. Majitel komunikoval pohotově a proaktivně. Moc díky za pobyt, doporučuji.

This place had an amazing location. Hosts were super responsive even in the late night hours. Lots of shopping options, restaurants. It is on a walkable distance to everything in Funchal in general.
The cleaness was on it’s peak and we had basically everything we needed for a pleasent stay.
The only thing you shoud keep in mind is a squeaky and a bit less comfortable bed if that bothers you. Also, the sofa is a bit weird but in general none of it was a big problem for us.

When our flight was canceled at the last minute we needed a place to stay urgently, and thankfully the host responded to my message very quickly. The apartment was not easy to find at first, but the location is amazing and super convenient.

La ubicación está céntrico aunque es tranquilo. Moderno con todas las comodidades excepto microondas. Limpio y a la semana pasaban a limpiarlo y cambiar toallas y sábanas.
No hay nada. Solo tengo una sugerencia poner a/a o en su defecto mosquiteras.
Realmente no hemos pasado calor pero se nos han.comido los mosquitos😊

We had a great time in this appartement, the location is amazing, dead in the city center everything is a walking distance away in Funchal. It's big and spacious and very clean. We'll definitely come back if we're in Madeira again

Nowoczesny apartament w świetnej lokalizacji w szczególności dla osób, które mają zamiar zwiedzać Maderę przez busy/wycieczki z uwagi na bliskość przystanków (Terminal SAM) oraz przystanki przy głownej ulicy portowej. Trochę gorzej dla osób wypożyczających samochód z uwagi na brak parkingu. Bardzo blisko sklep Pingo Doce, który jest w galerii handlowej. Blisko do deptaku na którym w kwietniu/maju był festiwal kwiatów. Zaraz na końcu ulicy jest śliczny park a ulica na której jest budynek nie jest zatłoczona i w apartamencie było względnie cicho pomimo bliskości centrum.
Świetny kontakt z obsługą przez dodatkowy portal dla gościa.
Mieszkanie czyste, na miejscu czekał prezent w postaci torby półciennej. Na miejscu była kawa, herbata i podstawowe przyprawy.
Super, że była pralka to uratowało wyjazd! (kapryśna pogoda w górach bardzo ubrudziła nasze ubrania)
Mieszkanie na tydzień było na plus, na dłużej (długoterminowo) miałoby kilka minusów.
Mieszkanie na tydzień w 100 % wystarczające ale przy dłuższym terminie byłoby kilka mankamentów:
- brak większej miotły do zamiatania piasku/brudu który się przyniesie pod butami z lewad
- brak zmywarki
- brak klimatyzacji (są 2 wiatraki, nam nie były potrzebne ale może jak jest cieplej to byłby gorzej)
- umiejscowienie sztućców na niskiej szufladzie pod piekarnikiem a tymczasem kilka szaf pustych
- brak mikrofali

Very well equipped apartment, close to the grocery shop (shopping centre), restaurants, public transport, public park and city centre. Area is quiet and seemed safe. Apartment is bright, quiet and minimalistic. Sofa bed in the living room is not very comfy so ideal for couple. Positive is late check out (noon). The host (it’s business) was very responsive, although did not need their assistance during our stay. Only negative thing was that we were not able to check in earlier neither to leave our luggage at the property prior 4pm - the host explained that the property would not be ready until then, although when we checked in we’ve learned from cleaning staff that it was ready since morning. Nothing what we could do about as check in was at 4pm anyway. Overall we liked the apartment, area and all its amenities/equipment (automatic door lock was a bit annoying).

Fabulous apartment. In excellent condition and spotlessly clean. The location worked very well for me, very central (seemingly only two minutes from the sea, restaurants and a supermarket) but also quiet. Both the building and surrounding area felt very safe (the lock on the apartment wouldn't be out of place on a bank vault).
I had a little bit of trouble locating the building, due to very peculiar numbering on the street (best to ignore the numbers and just hunt down the skinny orange building), and also had to find somewhere to leave my bags (an option was provided after messaging the hosts) as I landed at 10:30 but check-in wasn't possible until 16:00.
But overall, a great apartment and area and I would definitely consider booking it again.

Everything was super nice about the accommodation. Really close to the city centre, kitchen full of all the equipment, very clean, even a washing machine, doors on a code which was super convenient that we didn’t have to care about who has the keys. Absolutely recommend.
