This house is the perfect retreat for those seeking a holiday destination in a rural atmosphere. Located in a quiet area, surrounded by lush vegetation and inserted in the housing complex of a Madeiran farm, this house offers all the conditions and amenities for an excellent stay.
On the entrance floor of this rustic house, you will find a double bedroom, with wardrobe and window overlooking nature, a bathroom with bathtub, a cosy living room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with a wood oven and a dining area. On the upper floor, with tilted low ceilings, there are two more comfortable double bedrooms and a guest WC with bath. The wood-burning fireplace in the living room promotes a familiar and cosy atmosphere, the ideal place in the house to enjoy in company on cold winter days and in summer, shelter from the hot mountain sun. The interior architecture of the house is typical of the area where it is located, Camacha, which makes the experience even more authentic.
In addition, the house is surrounded by gardens of centennial trees, providing a natural and tranquil setting. With the privacy that this secluded property offers, you can relax and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, in a perfect place for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

AREA
This property is located in Camacha, in a very peaceful area called Vale Paraíso. Near this house you will find restaurants with typical Madeiran gastronomy. The centre of Camacha is 4 minutes away. Here you will find supermarkets, bars, restaurants, the parish church and access to the Levada do Caniço.
Camacha is considered the cultural capital of Madeira for keeping alive its ancient traditions, namely its colourful and lively Folklore and Ethnographic Groups and its highly regarded handicrafts, specializing in a great variety of wicker objects and regional embroidery. A place to visit during your stay in Madeira.
Camacha is about 20 minutes drive from the Funchal centre and 18 minutes from the airport.
If you choose to go to the Funchal centre, take the opportunity to explore the city and find out more information about all sorts of activities you can do during your holiday: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer any questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
RULES
We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
ATTENTION
We inform that a Municipal Tourist Ecotax will be charged for person staying overnight in the municipality of Santa Cruz. All guests staying in tourist developments and / or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged 2,00€ per person/night, up to a maximum 7 nigths stay/ 14€ per person. Close to your arrival, you will receive the link to pay this fee.
No pets allowed. Please don’t feed wild or domestic animals.

Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before check-in, the cancellation is free up to 48 hours after the reservation, up to a maximum of 5 days before check-in.
After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

Very dump, mildew in the lower bedroom. We had to continuously use the drier around the ground floor. Also, very weak circuit breaker, impossible to use washing machine, stove amd heating simultaneously.

Só não avalio melhor porque a interação com a An Island Apart não correu bem. Perante o primeiro contacto em português responderam em inglês e com uma informação que em nada estava relacionada com a pergunta. Depois afirmaram que iriam resolver a questão e não existiu qualquer ação e até ao final da estadia não teve resolução.

Das Haus war mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet und sauber bei der Ankunft.
Der leichte Räucher-Geruch vom Kamin hing ziemlich in den Räumen und so teilweise auch in unserer Kleidung fest und die Matratzen und Kissen waren für unseren Geschmack etwas zu hart.
Trotzdem hatten wir einen entspannten Aufenthalt und haben
vor allem den Garten und Spaziergänge um das Haus genossen.

A little warning: The upper level is maybe not the best fit for tall people ;-)
The fireplace is super cozy, but the only way of heating in the living room area, so it can get quite cold when you are staying there in March like us (the bedrooms have electric heaters).
When it rains there's sometimes a bit of a smell from the bathroom downstairs unfortunately.
Besides that I'd say the house is great value for the price, so we can recommend staying there.

However, on the first floor: a huge ants problem (literally each day it becomes worse), very humid. At the second floor: narrow spaces, no furniture to store your clothes, unusable shower (very weak water pressure, can't stand because of the roof). Not responsive host: not reactive and short-spoken, gives only few details when answering questions.

Le logement et le jardin sont jolis,bien entretenus.
La cheminée a agrémenté nos soirées.
La route en contrebas ne gêne pas. Elle est à bonne distance, non visible du jardin.
Sur photos du site, les pièces paraissent plus grandes mais elles sont très cosy et tout à fait adaptées pour 6 adultes. Le logement est assez humide mais problème réglé avec le déshumidificateur et chauffage.
Une des chambres est vraiment en sous pente,plus adaptée à des enfants mais nous nous en sommes accommodés.
Pour les personnes + 1,65 m, il est assez difficile de prendre des douches dans la salle de bains à l’étage mais bains possibles.
Avons apprécié le service de nettoyage à la mi séjour. Malgré l’heure tardive de notre arrivée (23h30), nous avons été accueillis par une personne très agréable.
Voiture conseillée mais arrêt de bus à proximité.
Pour les amoureux de nature et de tranquillité, nous recommandons cette location

House was fine for 2 people using downstairs bedroom and bathroom - we didn't use the upstairs but it would have presented problems for tall people due to sloping ceilings.
Facilities were as described - its not the most luxurious but facilities are complete and functional and pretty much as per the photos

If you have sensitive lungs, be careful, the downstairs bedroom and living room are stuffy / potentially moldy and may trigger a reaction. If you’re tall (e.g. 1.75m), also be mindful as the top bedrooms and bathrooms are attic-style, making the amount of space you can stand up straight in a room pretty small.

Obrigado pelo seu review, iremos tomar em conta tudo descrito por si e resolver assim que possível.
Queríamos também dizer que algumas coisas não estão ao nosso alcance, como a temperatura registada que foi anormal na semana que esteve ca e os insectos, visto que é uma casa de campo.
A questão dos vizinhos, há sempre que respeitar os vizinhos e o barulho feito após horas de expediente.

Lediglich ein Hund, ein Hahn und ein Pfau haben in der Nachbarschaft immer mal wieder auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. Ansonsten hat man seine Ruhe, vor allem Nachts, wenn der Verkehr auf der Landstraße sich beruhigt, der aber auch tagsüber nicht wirklich stört.
Für vier Personen ist die Unterkunft perfekt, bei 6 Personen wird es kuschelig.
Die Kommunikation mit der Vermietung sowie die Schlüsselübergabe liefen perfekt. Sogar eine Zwischenreinigung haben wir bekommen. Man hat sich wirklich sehr gut um uns gekümmert.
Einziger Makel unsererseits: Im Erdgeschoss hat sich über den gesamten Urlaub Feuchtigkeit im Wohnzimmer und im Schlafzimmer gehalten, die wir mit den zur Verfügung gestellten Heizlüftern nur teilweise in den Griff bekommen haben.

Stary, wyremontowany i pięknie urządzony dom ze wszystkimi udogodnieniami.
Parking jest dostępny na miejscu, ale nie pod samym domem - trzeba przejść kawałek kamienną drogą i kilkoma schodami (uwaga dla osób z niepełnosprawnością i z wózkami dla dzieci).
Samodzielne elastyczne zameldowanie - klucze do wyjęcia ze skrytki.
Dostępne trzy sypialnie z wygodnymi, dużymi łóżkami (dwie na piętrze, jedna na parterze), dwie łazienki - po jednej na piętro.
Przyjemny salon z kominkiem.
Schody na górę bardzo strome.
Kuchnia w pełni wyposażona.
Pralnia z pralką i suszarką automatyczną znajdują się z tyłu domu.
Nie udało nam się znaleźć żelazka.
Gdy przyjechaliśmy, w domu było zimno - dostępne są jednak trzy grzejniki, które w miarę radzą sobie z ogrzaniem sypialni.
Dom był czyściutki i gotowy do zamieszkania, kontakt z wynajmującym bez zarzutu.
Dookoła tajemniczy, piękny ogród. Posiadłość tuż przy ulicy, ale zapewniająca prywatność. Chętnie wrócimy!
