Traditional Madeiran villa, where tranquillity and comfort meet. In the centre of Funchal, this renovated house offers modern amenities while maintaining the charm of typical Madeira houses. With a capacity of up to 6 people, it is ideal for families and friends.
On the 1st floor, you will find two suites, with shower and double bed, and a common balcony.
On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with a sofa bed and a complete social bathroom, the kitchen and dining area encourage socialising while preparing meals.
In the outdoor area, you will find a swimming pool, a dining area, solarium and garden.
Enjoy, in a responsible way, the ripe fruits and aromatic herbs of the garden (except banana trees, due to their size and complexity in picking, are prohibited) and be careful, we do not take responsibility for any material or physical damage that may occur.
The family atmosphere is a distinctive feature of this property. The secret garden is ideal for children to play freely, while adults enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the space.

AREA
Property located on Rua da Quebra Costas, one of the cross streets to the main arteries of Funchal. From this property, you can get to know and visit on foot the main points of interest of the capital of Madeira Island. It is close to the Cruzes’s Museum, João Carlos Abreu's Universe of Memories, restaurants, shopping centers, bars, museums, the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Municipal Garden, Funchal Marina and Municipal Theater.
In the city center there is a lot of information about all kinds of activities you can do during your vacations: cultural activities, radical activities, nature activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the villa will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the villa.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property, except a storage room underneath the house which will be locked.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
- The video surveillance system is switched off whenever there are guests staying.
RULES
We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
It is strictly forbidden to climb on and/or remove bunches from the banana trees.
ATENTION
-Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.
-Make your stay more real and enjoy, in a responsible way, the ripe fruits and aromatic herbs in the garden but be careful, as we don’t take responsibility for any material or physical damage that may occur.
-Banana trees, due to their size and complexity in picking, are prohibited.
-Diving in the pool is strictly prohibited.
-Parties are not allowed!

Cancelation policy
Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before check-in, the cancellation is free up to 48 hours after the reservation, up to a maximum of 5 days before check-in.
After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

Located in central Funchal surrounded by many cafes, restaurants and tourist facilities. Large supermarket 2 minute walk.
Pool is only small. We paid the extra fee to heat it. We visited in December and the owners didn’t hesitate to turn the temperature to maximum. We enjoyed a daily dip but not large enough to swim in. We highly recommend this property.

Firstly no crib on checking for our 6 month old despite confirming one I'm the booking process. This was very stressful after a long day but the rep Elias sourced one late after a lot a back and forth averting a potential disaster.
We also paid extra for the pool to be heated, it wasn't especially hot but would have been fine. however the cover was disinteregrating leaving the pool full of small pieces of plastic. this didn't feel safe for our daughter.
Finally I found some of the communication a little over zealous often receiving the same message 3+ time via muliple channels.
Be warmed parking is a challenge in this area.

Eine kleine Oase mitten in der Stadt.
Das AnIslandApart Team war sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich und immer gut erreichbar. Als wir eine Information bezüglich eines Kinderarztes brauchten, haben sie uns auch Abends noch geantwortet. Auch mit einer weiteren Bettauflage wurde meinem Vater zu besserem Schlaf verholfen.

The villa itself is nice. Well equipped, quiet and a very friendly resident cat to keep you company.
Worth noting:
The pool - is tiny !😂
The rental company will ask if you want it heated for €20 Euros a day.
First reaction is that’s a bit cheeky as it should be included in the price, and the charge is probably three times the actual cost of heating such a small pool (the pool is literally 3m x 3m ! 😂).
Second reaction is it’s probably unnecessary as it felt like a warm bath!
arking - you can’t park in the road the villa is on as that’s residents only. You can park above in the open car park at the top of the road, but the maximum time you can get a parking voucher for is 3.5 hours. So park in Madeira Plaza if needed.

There is no parking place on the property but this was not a problem at all. It was always easy to find a parking spot at the public parking nearby.
The person who met us at the house to give us the key was very friendly and easy to reach by phone.

Pros
- Perfect location. 5 minute walk and you're in the Funchal city center.
- House, garden and pool were all exceptional.
- Had all the amenities we needed. House seemed to be renovated recently so everything was modern, clean and worked well.
- Surprisingly quite and private given the location.
Cons
- The single pane windows, whilst beautiful, aren't very noise or weather resistant. The area isn't too noisy but when it is, you will hear it. There was a storm and we found that without the shutters closed, rain would get in and soak the wall and floors. Wasn't a big deal really.
- Internet would stop working semi-regularly. Host company were helpful and responsive in trying to fix it but seems to be an issue at the providers end that is likely just temporary and will be fixed.
Overall, had a really enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

The villa had everything required and was clean and very comfortable.
The gardens were lovely and very secluded considering the city centre location.
The pool was smaller than we expected from looking at the photos, and despite paying extra to have it heated, there were no pool towels provided on arrival, and we had to ask for them to be delivered.

My 5 year old son enjoyed the pool and the garden area searching for lizards and we enjoyed the outdoor seating areas.
Everything was within walking distance so would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. I would definitely go back if in Madeira again.
