Apartment in a renovated historic building, equipped with all the facilities for a fantastic vacation in Funchal. Located in one of the downtown areas of the capital of Madeira Island, this building is close to services, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions.
Functional one-bedroom apartment on the 1st floor of a historic building, with good natural light, contemporary decor inspired by traditional elements of the island, such as wickerwork, and landscapes of old Madeira. Ideal accommodation for a business or leisure trip. It offers every comfort and convenience for a pleasant stay, with a living area, TV with cable channels, sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, dining area, bathroom with shower and bedroom with double bed. Maximum capacity for 4 people.

AREA
Guests have quick and easy access to various restaurants, stores, shopping centers and supermarkets.
This building is very close to the Farmers' Market, Funchal's Old Town and the Cathedral. From here you can explore the city's many tourist attractions on foot (e.g. cable car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...).
Barreirinha’s beach or São Tiago’s beach is about fifteen minutes away on foot, where you can relax and take a dip.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Cancelation policy
Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before check-in, the cancellation is free up to 48 hours after the reservation, up to a maximum of 5 days before check-in.
After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

La climatisation était difficilement réglable et l'appartement était toujours un peu trop humide, parfois un peu froid. Il manque un meuble de rangement pour la personne dormant dans le canapé-lit (il n'y a qu'une grande armoire dans la chambre). La salle de bains reste fort humide si on ne l'aère pas.

The listing advertises luggage storage, however when we enquired about this we were told it was a 9 minute walk away and it was chargeable. When questioned why this wasn’t made clear, there was no response. There is also not a reception.

Appartamentino molto accogliente, pulito e ben arredato, dotato di tutti i confort necessari (tranne la lavastoviglie, ma è presente un'utilissima lavasciuga da 10 kg con tanto di detersivo e ammorbidente!).
Insomma, ottima esperienza in generale e molto apprezzabile la piattaforma di gestione della prenotazione, ove sono presenti alcune info aggiuntive e si possono anche gestire le prenotazioni di altri servizi accessori (transfer dall'aeroporto ed escursioni sull'isola).
Si tratterebbe solo di fare qualche miglioria in termini di accessori a disposizione. Mancano, ad esempio, delle tovagliette per il tavolo e una bilancia da cucina.
Andrebbe inoltre previsto qualche gancio e punto di appoggio in più in bagno (es. nella doccia per appoggiare comodamente lo shampoo o per gli asciugamani in generale).

The balcony shown on the photos is not with the apartment though. This was one of the reasons I booked that particular place, so that was disappointing. There are window seats though.
Another thing to note is that there is a lot of noise from the street at the back, which starts at 7 am when they’re setting up the cafes outside, and goes on until late at night. We did get used to it, but it often sounds like people are actually in the apartment!
The shower is very good 👌.

About the balcony, is not included in the apartment amenities in the Airbnb advert. I don't know if you've had a chance to look at it. The image that shows the balcony is a photograph that shows the building and the street where it is located. It doesn't mean that the flat you're booking has a balcony. We always advise the guests to check the flat's amenities in advert. With regard to noise, it's normal for there to be some as we're in the city centre and in the middle of some shops.

Es un espacio amplio, luminoso y con todas las comodidades para disfrutar del lugar.
Está muy bien ubicado, muy céntrico con muchas opciones de restaurantes, actividades y supermercados en los alrededores. Se encuentra a pocos minutos caminando de la parada de bus desde el aeropuerto.
Sin duda volveríamos a quedarnos allí en un próximo viaje a Madeira :)
