LE QUARTIER ET LES ENVIRONS
Cette maison est située dans un quartier central privilégié, en plein cœur de la ville de Funchal. À 15 minutes à pied du marché des Lavradores et de la vieille ville de Funchal, vous pourrez explorer à pied les différents points touristiques de notre belle ville (par exemple, le téléphérique, la marina de Funchal, le musée CR7, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)

TRANSPORT
Avec un arrêt de bus à proximité (à cinq minutes), le transport ne sera pas un problème pour nos hôtes.
Pour les départs et les arrivées de l'aéroport, il y a un arrêt d'aérobus à environ sept minutes de la maison, bien que la meilleure option pour atteindre l'appartement soit le transfert. Demandez-nous d'en réserver un auprès de nos partenaires locaux. C'est moins cher que les taxis que vous trouverez à l'aéroport !

We found the apartment to feel ever so slightly smaller than it seemed in the pictures, but still good for spending some days.

The location is great, there’s pretty much everything you need in a 5-10 minutes walking radius.

Parking was an issue, but that’s true for all of Funchal, and the team have helped us by providing a listing of private parking near the area. Some are way cheaper than others, so I would recommend to check the full list.

Overall, we had a very good stay and were pretty happy with the flat!

La situation géographique
Les rideaux qui laissent passer la lumière. L’appartement est situé à côté d’un lampadaire. Et les rideaux n’occultent rien du tout!! Premières nuits horribles nous avons été obliger d’acheter des masques. Voisins du dessus bruyants

Great location. Very central and walking distance to everything in Funchal. Great restaurants a couple minutes walk as well as the shopping centre.
Good bedroom size and large bathroom. Sofa was uncomfortable and could do with replacing. On a busy street with lights and noise coming through, which didn’t bother us but worth taking into consideration. Overall would recommend staying here!

Logement idéal pour visiter Madère, l'emplacement est parfait, en plein coeur de la vieille ville, nombreux restaurants autour, boulangerie proche.
Logement propre, bien équipé, très facile d'accès. Il faudrait juste rajouter un volet dans la chambre pour la lumière.

Apartamento muito bem localizado, perto do centro do Funchal com imensos serviços perto, incluindo restaurantes, farmácias, lojas de conveniência.
Local de difícil estacionamento sugeríamos que fossem disponibilizados sugestões diárias de estacionamento.
Apartamento com boas condições, ideal para um casal. Cozinha bem equipada e limpa, e quarto confortável com ar condicionado. A equipa disponibilizou troca de cama e toalhas a meio da nossa estadia, o que foi ótimo! Realmente existe um candeeiro público em frente à janela do apartamento, os cortinados são opacos mas mesmo assim deixam entrar alguma luz…no entanto não foi razão para perturbar o nosso descanso. No geral foi uma optima estadia para as nossas férias na Madeira.

Die Unterkunft war wie beschrieben und sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Leider war es etwas laut, sowohl draußen (bei offenem Fenster) als auch im Haus, man hat ziemlich viel von den umliegenden Appartements gehört. Ansonsten hatten wir nichts auszusetzen.

Die Unterkunft war im Großen und Ganzen super. Man ist direkt in der Stadt(Funchal) und kann alles sehr gut zu Fuß erreichen.
Da man „direkt“ in der Stadt ist, ist es etwas lauter aber nicht sehr schlimm.
Da wir nie die Zeit dort verbracht haben außer zum Schlafen, hatten wir alles was wir brauchten.
Das Einzige, was uns ein bisschen gestört hat, ist dass das Schlafzimmer keine Rollladen hat sonder nur Vorhänge. Und da eine Straßenlaterne direkt vor dem Fenster/Balkontür sich befindet, strahlt das Licht immer rein und es ist ziemlich hell.
Ansonsten alles super. Einfaches Check-in und check-out und die Kommunikation ist einwandfrei. Wir haben auch immer Hilfe bekommen, wenn wir Fragen hatten.
Wir würden immer wieder kommen.

Great, clean, tidy apartment with all the things we need. Very close to all essential amenities and Funchal’s coast. Nearby to shops and tourist attractions, including restaurants, cafes and the famous cable cars. The host was very communicative which was great for us tourists. Very good apartment on the whole on a quiet but nice street with some restaurants on and near the centre of things. Kitchen a bit small to cook often or a bigger meal, but the other rooms are spacious for a couple who are using it as a base. Clean, secure, quiet building. All very good on the whole. Recommend.

Great location to explore funchal by foot. Perfect modern place for two people. Communication by the host was good. Only downside was the kitchen, the pans were badly scratched and the cutlery wasn’t very clean. In general i can recommend this place.

La casa si trova in un punto molto interessante della città, ottimi ristoranti nelle vicinanze e ai vari punti di interesse . La casa è molto ben organizzata anche se suggerirei di cambiare le tende (entra troppa luce dovuta ad un lampione ) per il resto lo consiglio vivamente !

Very nice and cozy place, exactly like the pictures and the description. The location is very good with many restaurant options and supermarkets nearby. I really recommend the place. The only bad thing were the little flies and mosquitos but I guess there's nothing to do about that.

Das Apartment ist sehr zentral gelegen, sodass man zu Fuß viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten erreichen kann. Auch eine Bushaltestelle mit Anbindung an den Flughafen befindet sich in fußläufiger Entfernung. Das Apartment bietet genug Platz für 3 Personen und hat alles was man braucht. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Lovely little town flat, looks bigger on the pictures though! Great location right in the heart of Funchal, we rented a car and there’s lots of car parks nearby. The flat had hairdryer, iron and Board and a fully equipped kitchen. Very clean at a great price!

Great location and really lovely little apartment! Looks bigger on pictures so on the smaller side in person but still really good. There was a hairdryer, iron and washing up facilities during our stay. All of it was remote so it was easy to follow and check in.
Nothing really! Only thing was the door was a little buggy and it took 20 minutes to lock sometimes which delayed us. Other then that was amazing.

It's a nice apartment with a great location. We stayed 3 nights and had a good time, but had a number of annoying instances in our relatively short stay. Our main issue was repairmen coming unannounced to do minor repairs in the bathroom and then being told we couldn't use the shower for two hours. The bathroom door needs repairing and wouldn't close unless you used excessively force wedge it so that it wouldn't then swing open. The kitchen is well equipped, but if you want to use the kettle or another appliance, you have to do it on the floor because there is no powerpoint. Also, this last point is fairly trivial, but we were provided half a roll of toilet paper for our 3 nights. I would expect for that length of stay and at that cost, we probably should have gotten a full roll and a spare.

Complete dissatisfaction with the state of bathroom and shower head and hose. Strange behaviour of the virtual reception and the responsible manager Hugo who stopped answering the phone or responding to emails. Only automatic responses kept on arriving. Some members of maintenance staff tried to help - but they are not magicians to convert old and tired bathroom in a normal hygienically acceptable state. The bathroom is disgusting and the lack of communication is appaling

The property was closely overlooked by offices on the opposite side of the street , so no privacy , voil or some kind of shutter would have made a difference as we had to close the curtains while in the property making . The bathroom seemed to have an issue with mould around the shower, looks like there could be a leak from underneath . Curtains were hanging off the rails. The only mirror was in the bathroom , the only wardrobe space was taken up by a rolled up rug , a mop bucket dusty christmas tree and old blankets . Not ideal to hang your close up in. The apartment could be perfect with a bit more attention to the detail , as the location is excellent . Sofa needs throwing away

We stayed for a week and it was exactly the accommodation we needed. Great location, bedroom separated from the living room and kitchen, self check-in and check-out, all the kitchenware needed, etc. The only negative things are that the ventilation in the bathroom seems to be malfunctioning (so the bathroom remains humid if you don’t open its the door to the bedroom) and in general the air of the flat smells a little so you often have to open the windows to the street that is often loud during the day.

We stayed for one month and enjoyed our stay in old town Madeira Island. The apartment was within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, farmer's market, seaside, and gardens.
The apartment was clean and modernly upgraded. The refrigerator was small and there was only a microwave and stove top for cooking but we managed.

Overall we were happy with the location in old town Funchal, Madeira Island. The apartment was within short walking distance to farmer’s market, shopping center, grocery stores, restaurants, seashore, and parks. We were a little disappointed that there was no regular oven as per listing, only a microwave and a two burner stove top. Also, the refrigerator was very small. We still enjoyed our stay and adjusted with the available appliances.

The main issue we experienced was the foisty and dustiness in the flat.
Other problems were:
Sparking lamp
Unpleasant smelling mouldy shower
Leaking shower head
General uncleanliness and bad smell throughout flat.
Therefore we had to move out and cancel our reservation which was very inconvenient.

The best is the location of this place. Everything is super close. Due to the sting lights from the street I could not sleep properly, curtains did not help a lot. For my spouse it was OK.

Bel appartamento con camera e soggiorno divisi, cucina dotata di tutto piatti bicchieri, pentole, macchina caffè, frigo, pentole e tutto quello che può essere utile in una casa. Comunicazione eccellente via sms con l Host. Comodo il self check in visto che noi siamo arrivati alle 2 di notte. Consigliatissimo!
Solo un piccolo problema nel bagno dove gocciolava acqua da una tubatura. La pulizia, una volta in 8 giorni, potrebbe essere più accurata.

It was a wonderful stay in this apartment for 11 Days. very well located and a couple of minutes away from the Promenade. It might get very loud at night (as expected for a apartment located Downtown).

One of the best places we have ever stayed. You can't beat the location, right in the city center, clise to the harbour and everything.
The check in was very eady and smooth, not using a key is so handy!
I can not recommend An Island enough. Go there and see for yourself. Madeira is beautiful!

I like the location of Downtown app, i will recommend it to my friends. All is perfect inside the app. One acception of appart 1B are street lamps outside the window. The light all the night is annoing. It will be very well if there were a blinds on the windows.

Keyless access (pin codes rather than keys) - great for getting into the building when you arrive without having to be met by a host (give definite arrival time). Was able to arrange early check in. Hosts were very responsive to queries.

Well equipped kitchen and comfy bed.

Great location - close to restaurants, supermarkets, park and marina.

Great soundproofing - When the patio doors are closed you cannot hear any external noise.
Wii-fi was generally good. I used my laptop for remote working whilst away and one afternoon it constantly dropped out during Teams calls but was okay the rest of the time. Achieved about 5-7Mbps download speeds.

Didn't have access to the service area - laundry etc (locked and no key in the apartment).

Blackout blinds would be useful. The first floor windows are the same height as the street lights and the way the curtains are hung means the room is still brightly lit when the curtains are closed.

La ubicación perfecta. La sala de lavandería ideal. Hicimos senderismo y resulto ideal para la ropa, ya que nos mojamos. En la cocina no eche nada en falta.
Hay que tener las cortinas pasadas día y noche. De día por intimidad y de noche mucha luz exterior. El alumbrado de la calle es intenso. Tampoco fue un problema.
El aparcamiento en la calle es complicado pero hay un parking a 5 minutos a pie y en una de las entradas principales a Funchal por 4,5€ el día, una vez lo descubrimos no buscamos más aparcamiento.

The apartment is located in the heart of the city. Shopping centre with grocery stores it's just few minutes walk as well as travel agencies (if you want to organise your trips on the island) and seaside. The place is very comfortable, clean and stylish. Caroline is a great agent - she emailed us the main attractions on the island and the best restaurants, once again - thank you Caroline :)
We would definitely stay there if we visit Madeira again.

L'appartement était très bien équipé et bien placé dans la ville. Une seule remarque, la fenêtre de la chambre est éclairée par le lampadaire ce qui empêche de dormir la nuit. Il faudra trouver une solution pour bien occulter la lumière

Das Apartment ist in bester Lage mit vorzüglicher Ausstattung. Die Übergabe an uns freundlich und informativ.
Der Trubel in der Straße mit den vielen Angeboten an Restaurants hat uns gut gefallen. Wir kommen gern wieder, auch wenn es keinen Parkplatz gibt.
Ein Hinweis in den Unterlagen auf die besten und preiswerten Parkhäuser wäre hilfreich gewesen, ebenso wie die Empfehlung, die Fenster bei Nacht
ganz zu schließen. Die nächtliche Müllabfuhr ist sehr laut!!!!
Trotzdem-- dias Apartment ist perfekt.

We had a real nice stay in this beautiful, elegant flat and would definitly stay there again. the host was very friendly and helpful as well. you'll find lots of good restaurants nearby, as well little suppermarkets or large shopping malls. the only drawback if you have a rental car, is that finding a parking spot is quite impossible, but there are a few car parks nearby as well. most of the places you want to visit in Funchal are within wallking distance. for people who need it really dark at night in their sleeping room, be aware of the fact that appartment 1b has a larg lantern just in front of the window, which the curtain won't shield completely.

We enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It was very clean and a great location. Good amenities including washer and dryer. Very rare in Europe. The street lamp directly outside the bedroom meant the room was quite bright at night and the curtains were not big enough to block this out. Other than this everything was great. I would recommend this apartment.
