Casa do Lanço is part of a 25,000m² vineyard estate in a transition zone between the laurel forest and the farmland of São Vicente. The terraced vineyards are home to the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira wine. The property is set in a group of houses where you'll find several gardens with centenary trees, including a large oak tree over 250 years old and several species endemic to the Laurissilva such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos, and loureiros. The house is decorated with many details, in a fusion between classic and contemporary, following the tradition of a family home. It has a bedroom with two traditional-style single beds and an access door to the outside, so you can wake up to a fantastic view of the yard and gardens. Inside the property, you can enjoy the shared swimming pool and sauna, stroll along the stream and gardens, or relax in the yard outside, where you can have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the caretaker. During your stay, you can take part in the viticulture process or buy the wines available at the house. The main house has belonged to the same family since its inception and retains its original architecture, although it has undergone improvements and modernization. AREA The house is located in the north of the island, in Rosário, a parish in the municipality of São Vicente. As it is in a more isolated area, there are no shops in the vicinity. A ten-minute drive from the town of São Vicente, you'll find local shops, restaurants, a supermarket, and a pharmacy. In the vicinity, you have access to several trails and levadas, perfect for exploring the island on foot. The city of Funchal is a 45-minute drive away. PROPERTY RULES To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules. • Smoking is not permitted inside the property. A fine of €300 will be charged for non-compliance. • Parties or events are not permitted. • Pets are not permitted. • Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night. The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature levels, solely for safety reasons. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. Should abnormal levels be detected, a member of our team may contact you. You are not permitted to disable, cover or tamper this or any other equipment installed on the property. In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration purposes. Municipal tourist tax (when applicable): €2.00 per person/night for guests aged 13 and above, up to a maximum of 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay). A payment link will be sent prior to arrival. Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If it is not arranged at least 48 hours beforehand, check-in will be subject to our team’s availability. Check-in: from 16:00 | Check-out: by 12:00 Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and an additional charge. By confirming your reservation, all guests agree to our house rules and accommodation conditions. OTHER NOTES All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide, free of charge, a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath upon request before check-in. Requests made less than 48 hours before arrival may be subject to an additional fee. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket. For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays. Additional cleaning services during your stay are available on request at an extra charge.
