With a comfortable living room and an outside balcony, this apartment has two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, which can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can dine with all the tranquility that your holiday deserves.
If you rent a car the property has a free parking place.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Situated in one of the most prestigious areas of Funchal, this flat is close to supermarkets, pharmacies, shops, bars, theatres and the Casino of Madeira.
Next to the Casino you will find the stunning Santa Catarina Park, with large green areas for jogging, relaxing or picnicking overlooking the amazing bay of Funchal.
The location is ideal for exploring the city by foot (ten minutes walk from the cathedral, the marina and the city centre) or by public transport (bus stop is within two minutes walk).
GETTING AROUND
Although a aerobus bus stop for airport arrivals and departures is within five minutes walk distance from the flat, we recommend the private transfer service as the best option to get there. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi by your own in the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the flat.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties.

Le logement était parfait pour notre semaine de vacances, spacieux, très propre malgré qu'il soit dans son jus au niveau des salles de bains. The apartment is great and as described. They come in the middle of the week to change linen and towels, which is a nice touch. We also really liked the view from the balcony.
Only small issue we had was with the 4pm checkin, which seems very late to us.

Our stay at this apartment was fantastic and definitely worth the price. It’s just a 15-minute walk to the city center, which made it super convenient but still nice and quiet. The apartment was really clean and had everything we needed, like a washing machine and an iron, which came in handy.
We felt so at home here! The host was amazing—quick to reply and always ready to help with anything, which made our stay completely stress-free. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Нам понравилось расположение и наличие подземной парковки. Место тихое и вид из окна приятный. Есть вся бытовая техника. На кухне было кофе, оливковое масло, соль и перец. Но не было сахара - они следят за здоровьем гостей) Эти помещения очень использованные - они нуждаются в ремонте. Это особенно касается ванных комнат. Вентиляторы в ванных комнатах включаются вместе с освещением и очень-очень громко работают. На кухне все ручки мебели были покрыты жиром. Также были очень плохие матрасы и подушки - все 4 ночи в этом апартаменте были сложными для сна.

Wir waren zu viert, man konnte die Innenstadt super fussläufig erreichen. Die Gastgeber waren zur abgemachten Zeit da und haben uns noch eine coole Liste mit Empfehlungen gegeben, zudem konnten wir 10% sparen für einen Leihwagen. Die Küche voll ausgestattet und man konnte gemütlich auf dem Balkon sitzen. Wir hatten Zugang zur Garage mit eigenem Stellplatz.
Minuspunkte geben wir dafür, dass das eine Zimmer echt klein und eng war und das zweite Duschbad war wirklich schon alt, dadurch hat sich bereits etwas Schimmel und dreck an den Fugen gesammelt. Die gesamte Wohnung war relativ stickig, was dem hohen Gebäude geschuldet ist.
Das Preis, Leistungsverhältnis ist dennoch super. 👍🏽

Our booking was canceled by the host one week prior to departure. They simply did not charge the remainder to my credit card, then claimed that the Appartement was not paid and then canceled. Even worse, the host kept the advance payment. Worst online experience ever! DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Overall, the apartment was large and pleasant, with a good location. The only thing we missed was air conditioning; after a whole day in the sun, it was hard to relax at home using just the available fans. Additionally, the WiFi only worked in the living room and on the terrace, which was another downside. As for minor details, I would mention the iron, which I reported as dirty and cracked. A nice addition would also be at least one lounge chair on the balcony, especially if there is no air conditioning in the apartment. Apart from that, the apartment had everything we needed :)

Located in a quiet residential area, hilly like most of Funchal so a car is useful if you are happy to drive. You need a good navigator as well. Underground car park is great, very secure so no worries about on street parking. Good restaurants and a local supermarket within a 5 min walk. We are generally fairly active 60 year olds. Accommodation is as described, no views to speak of, lounge and bedroom windows overlook an abandoned property. Amenities in the property are very good, useful to have a washing machine and drying area if staying several days. All in all, we found it to be a good base and a comfortable stay.

We loved how centrally located the apartment was. We could reach both parts of the city by a 10-15 minute walk. There is a little coffee shop at the ground floor of the apartment building, where we got our breakfast every morning to then eat it on our own balcony upstairs.

Love the location, walkable to great restaurants and downtown. Bus stops close by if you need them. Apartment well laid out for two couples. Really like the An Island individual guest portal, way better than an app. Apartment quiet except for night time occasional loud motor cycle traffic. Funchal really needs to do something about those (at all times of the day!).
Would definitely return or use another An Island property.

Wirklich schöne und geräumige Wohnung mit allen Annehmlichkeiten die man sich wünscht um sich selbst zu versorgen.
Das einzige was etwas nervig war, dass man nach der Buchung auf ein anderes Portal wechseln muss (duve) und sich die Angaben teilweise widersprechen (duve check out bis spätestens 10 Uhr, laut airbnb check out vor 12 Uhr). Das Personal war dann nicht sehr glücklich, als wir um kurz nach 10 noch nicht weg waren, aber ich habe nunmal auf airbnb gebucht, nicht auf duve.
Fazit: Würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen :)

Het appartement was mooi groot en ruim en op het balkon had je de hele da zon! Helaas was er alleen geen airco aanwezig maar er waren wel ventilatoren te gebruiken. Daarnaast konden we rond 1 uur inchecken wat uitstekend geregeld was!

We were greeted by a kind and friendly host, the apartment was very clean with everything that you need for living there. This place has a large and cozy space for a group of people. We spent a great time there. Maybe it’s individual issue, but we couldn’t sleep well because of there was really hot at night. We saw a lot of heaters in apartment, but there wasn’t air conditioning or at least fans. We always opened windows at night and it was quite noisy although the apartment locates in a residential area.

Schöne Wohnung, für 4 Personen perfekt. Gute Lage, Restaurants in der Nähe. In die Altstadt von Funchal zu Fuß ca 15 Minuten. Wir hatten einen Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage, war sehr praktisch. Nach der Hälfte der Zeit wurden unsere Handtücher gewechselt. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet. Würde ich wieder buchen :)

It was very disappointing experience. Non-functional utilities, ex. dishwasher. Apt Was not
Stocked with basic amenities like shampoo, tissues, paper towels.. etc.
For a two bedroom apt, the 2nd room was a joke with super tiny and creaky beds, absolutely no space for two people to be in the room at the same time. No air conditioning and fan were not helpful either.

Perfect location and in pristine condition. It was a very comfortable stay and the flat had everything we needed and more. As for negatives, we waited 30 mins for a late check in, the garage door key stopped working, and the hot water stopped working but issues were quickly resolved so overall we were very satisfied.

Bardzo dobrze położone mieszkanie. Blisko i do centrum i na centralne baseny, łatwy wyjazd na wycieczki, przystanek autobusowy o kilka minut od budynku. Sympatyczna kawiarenka w budynku na dole. Bardzo duży (!) i wygodny parking, co nie jest typowe na Maderze. Dobry internet. Dwie oddzielne sypialnie z 2 oddzielnymi łazienkami. Cześć nocna oddzielona od dziennej - bardzo dobry pomysł. Mieszkanie ma wszystko, czego się spodziewasz, jeśli chcesz zwiedzać lub załatwiać sprawy na Maderze. Super wygodne kanapy w salonie! Balkon niby jest, ale wąski, a widok na ocean, gdy się wychylisz z balkonu. Za to prawdziwy widok jest na starą quintę, czyli dom-pałac, zrujnowany i zasiedlony przez bezdomnych, którzy czasem urządzają awantury. Nie jest to winą właściciela, ale jest to fakt. Nie jest to też jakoś strasznie uciążliwe, niektórzy nawet zaliczą do kolorytu miejsca ;-)
W kuchni - wypadałoby dokupić kubków do ciepłych napojów. W łazience - wymienić stare wentylatory.

The apartment is very spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which is super! It’s fully furnished and kitchen is clean and fully equipped. Additionally, the parking place in the garage is a great value. Due to some issues with car rental company we were late for arrival but despite us being late the host quickly answered our phone and welcomed us in front of the apartment. The place is quiet despite primary school being situated around the corner. Classes start at 8:30 so she had time to sleep:) There is a cafe on the ground floor so you can enjoy fresh croissants for breakfast :) In general we were super happy about the apartment and we spent great time there. A great location, and great management company who ensured that our stay on the island was as hassle free, and as enjoyable as was possible. The apartment is fairly basic, not that this matters when one is spending the vast majority of their time out, but is very clean and has all the essentials. There was a problem with the plumbing as when the bath was emptied, a blockage led to the bathroom flooding; this was fixed immediately. The jacuzzi bath didn't work, and I was told that it required a new system and so couldn't be repaired; this is a small point. The location is fantastic although the view from the sitting room balcony is of a litter-strewn gully; nothing that the ownership can do but, understandably, this is not a photograph that is included in the marketing particulars. Nonetheless, I would happily stay in this apartment again as it represents reasonable value, has a great location, and the management company is excellent.

We booked the place for 1 month, but wanted to leave the next day. Ended up staying 2 weeks, as the city was overbooked during the high season.
Communication was next to none: they even failed to meet us at the apartment, even though their taxi took us there.
The apartment is run by an agency, so don’t expect a very warm attitude.
The entrance to the building has giant cockroaches(yes, really). They are there almost 100% of the time, so unless you arrive by car, you will be playing a jumping game trying not to step on them each time you enter/exit the building.
The apartment looks much nicer on pictures, than in real life. Very poorly decorated, worn and with extremely uncomfortable beds.
There’s no aircon. This means you’re either stuck with fans that make a lot of noise or you need to open the window, where again you’ll hear a lot of noise in the morning/at night.
You can live in this apartment, you won’t die or anything, but you probably won’t enjoy it very much.
Our vacation was a bit ruined by this apartment. One of the worst Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in. Not sure how come it has such nice reviews.

Skvělé umístění poblíž centra a přitom v klidné části. Blízko krásného parku (u Kasina), kam se dá ráno chodit běhat s výhledem na přístav. Vlastní parkovací místo v garážích pod apartmány - praktické. No comment

We definitely love our stay . Quiet place , well located , next to casino , main streets of funchal and shopping area near by . Great balcony to enjoy the sun and see view . Nice reception , Carolina was fantastic , with a lovely smile and a warm welcoming . The amenities , everything you need you get there . Sparkling clean , the beds extremely comfy. Private parking garage . If we do come back to Madeira , we definitely will come back to this place . Dont think twice . And as an extra in the bathroom that you must find for yourself ... ;)

We spent a whole month in this apartment and would definitely recommend it. The location is perfect. The apartment is clean and really spacious. We enjoyed using the kitchen as it was so well equipped. The beds are very comfortable, even the single beds. We stayed in January and we didn’t need the heating, but there were plug in radiators if we had wanted them. There is an underground carpark, really safe and secure. Even the carpark was spotless! Traveltomadeira were super efficient and quick to respond to all our questions. We felt very safe here and in good hands. We used the recommended airport transfer and it was PERFECT. Absolutely can’t recommend this place enough. We loved it. It makes me smile just remembering....

This apartment is really a great choice for a family to spend the holiday. We are four people and spend a wonderful time there. The location is very good and super conviniente for everything (café, restaurants, transportation etc. ). The home equipment is very complete and suitable for cooking. The balcony has a very beautiful sunset scenery. We did the check-in very late but Filipa is very warm and friendly. Thank you!

Všetko bolo výborné, lokalita skvelá, pár minút od úplneho centra a prístavu. Čistý, nádherný a super zariadený byt. Nemám čo vytknúť, môžem len ďalej odporúčať. :)

Die Unterkunft war sehr zentral und doch ruhig gelegen. Eine schöne, grosse und saubere Wohnung mit allem was man braucht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Filipa vor Ort begrüsst.

Wir hatten einen super Urlaub! Tolle Wohnung in einem neuen Komplex. Wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten. Zu dem Apartment gehörte ein Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage. Der Service war super! Sie haben uns für einen guten Preis einen airport shuttle arrangiert. Nach der Hälfte unseres Aufenthalts gab es eine Reinigung und sauber Handtücher und neues Bettzeug. Gerne wieder!

Very nice apartments. A walk away, downtown, shops. Comfortable parking the car in the garage under the building. We'd certainly like to stay here if we went again.

A very clean place in a good location. The balcony was a great hangout space. Nice additions in kitchen supplies (coffee, condiments, etc) and good amenities.
Carolina was very friendly and helpful. We found the hairdryer broken and got a new one on the same day of reporting.
We’d recommend staying here.

Illheus III is a very spacious appartment with really all you need. We never before had an appartment so fully equiped. Even an own parking place in the garage, which is very handy in Funchall. Shops, restaurants and supermarket nearby.

The highlight of this place is the big balcony, a great place to enjoy the sun, relax and have dinners. As with most places in Madeira it feels like it was decorated decades ago, meaning there are strange interior details, like a big vase in the middle of the table filled with dry flowers, large glass cabinets in dark wood with quirky glass ware – still managing to create the feeling no one lives here. I'll admit, I knew this from the pictures, but still I'd like to point it out.
Basic things in the kitchen is there, also the cold blue light bulb experience when cooking late. We used the washing machine, worked great.
No complaints really, I was well aware and the description provided is accurate.

The flat is beautiful, large and perfectly located. We really enjoyed the sunny balcony in the afternoon. Also the private parking spot in the garage is very convenient and the communication was always quick and easy! We can highly recommend this place!!

I didn’t expect that localisation will be so good. Cafe in the building, 2 markets close to the apartments, few good restaurant , and just 10 minutes of walk to the port and center with thousands of restaurants and bars. we used car only to travel around island. Apartment was more than enough for 4 persons , clean with all you need , and Filipa, our host , was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend this place and very probable we will rent this Apartament next time we will visit Madeira.
