Apartment located in a quiet and central area, perfect for a group vacation, with outdoor space and a pleasant sea view.

Perfect flat for those who want to spend a season in a quiet and well located area, very close to the centre of Funchal.

This 3 bedroom property offers three bedrooms, with direct access to an outdoor patio, two with double bed (and private bathroom - one with shower and the other with bathtub) and one with single bed that converts into a double bed. The third WC includes a shower and is located in an area common to all the areas of the flat. The kitchen is fully equipped and provides a dining area. With a large living room, divided in two areas, a living area and a dining area, this accommodation has the capacity to host a maximum of 6 people, making it ideal to share a family holiday or with a group of friends. The living room and the kitchen have a common access to the outdoor space with sea view and that is equipped with garden furniture suitable for a break to relax, read a book, have a coffee or even enjoy some wonderful sunbaths.
The decoration is simple and current, offering all the necessary comfort and practicality for a pleasant stay.
The property is a 2-minute walk from the Miradouro da Nazaré viewpoint, which offers incredible views over the city of Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. The building is roadside and close to a public bus stop, bakeries and restaurants.

AREA
The great advantage of this accommodation is that it is a 7-minute drive from Funchal city centre and relatively close to the expressway accesses that take you quickly to other locations. Make the most of your stay to explore the four corners of Madeira Island, but if you choose to stay in Funchal, be aware that the capital offers countless experiences and activities! On your way to Funchal visit the emblematic Quinta Magnolia Garden, which has a wonderful children's play area, picnic areas, tennis courts, paddle tennis courts, a restaurant and a café with a fantastic terrace. In the centre of Funchal, don't miss out on the cable car ride up to Monte or the Botanical Garden, or the CR7 Museum, the Funchal Marina, Santa Catarina Park or the Baltazar Dias Theatre. There are many other landmarks in this city that you can choose from depending on your time and interest.

GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.

INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer any questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

The apartament is nice - if a little old. The taraces are big and private although the plants and pots are in a bad shape - we did some weeding and pruning on the roses 😀 the kitchen is well equiped - if the oven does not want to start it is because the clock is not set (had to download the user manual). The small room bed is falling apart and it is not a bed that can be turned into a two person bed. The Internet works fine. There is an elevator in the building. The cleanlines was fine for my standard but if you look at top shelves you will find quite a lot of dust. In the middle of our trip the crew changed the sheets and towels which was nice. After you arrive you have to park in the vecinity of the building and wait for someone to come let you in - the Main gate is pilot operated. They will arive on the time you specify in your pre-arrival form. We were early and just had to wait. The team did not answer my calls even once - But they answer to messages and /or call you back later.

Die Wohnung erfüllte alle Erwartungen und ist eine Alternative zu den Hotels. Hier kann man selbst seinen Tagesablauf bestimmen. Die schöne Sonnenterasse ist gerade im Winter sehr gut. Aber auch die Terasse auf der Hinterseite ist für den Sommer empfehlenswert. Wir können die Wohnung wirklich empfehlen.

I recently stayed at An Island's place and had an outstanding experience. The accommodation was exactly as described—extremely accurate, matching the photos perfectly, and all the listed amenities and services were available. The space was impeccably clean: free of clutter, with a pristine kitchen, spotless furniture and linens, and a squeaky-clean bathroom.

An Island was a fantastic host—friendly, always responsive, and proactive with helpful instructions. They provided excellent local recommendations that added so much to our trip. The check-in process was smooth.

The location was perfect—peaceful and private, yet walkable to great restaurants and lots of activities. The beautiful surroundings made it a truly memorable stay. Considering all this, it was a great deal and well worth the price.

Bývanie v apartmáne hostiteľa An Island bolo fajn, priestory boli veľké a čisté. Poloha apartmánu bola vcelku dosť vzdialená od centra a mestských pláží, na druhej strane nakoľko sme mali vozidlo, vedeli sme sa rýchlo presunúť na nami požadované miesta. Jedna vec, ktorá ma v apartmáne rušila boli vŕzgajúce drevené podlahy.

Je kan daar met 6 personen verblijven. Er zijn 3 slaapkamers met allemaal een tweepersoonsbed. Ook zijn er 3 badkamers, dit zorgt voor meer privacy. Er is een leuk balkon en een terras. Ook is het een ruim appartement midden in de stad.

We had a wonderful stay. the flat was perfect for our needs, with three bedrooms, a large living room, equipped kitchen and fantastic terrace. The host was also responsive and helped us out during our stay. Highly recommended.

Big and spacious apartment with great parking and 2 outdoor private terraces. Kitchen well equipped with feeling like home- everything available. Great to have laundry room with washer and dryer, its nice bonus after hiking in dirt. Apartment has 3 bathrooms with showers/bath, so even staying as a couple it is marvelous to save time in the morning. Further away from the city center, and uphill, however with a car its really great spot to be- calm and private housing, feeling safe.

Overall, everything was fine. One of the problems was the small amount of hot water. After three people had showered, there was no hot water for the others. Also, the two single beds were connected together in a way that made it difficult to sleep in, as there was a big curve. Additionally, there could be more towels, since we stayed there for a week. Another problem was the neighbor who complained about the noise while we were just sitting and chatting normally with friends. But the location and the place itself were nice, well-equipped, and clean. We arrived at 2 AM, but the host was very flexible and helpful with our check-in.

Mieszkanie nowe, świetnie wyposażone, z dwoma dużymi tarasami, jeden od ogrodu, drugi od oceanu. Mieszkanie w cichym, nowym apartamencie z 3 dużymi pokojami. Świetne jako baza wypadowa na Maderze! Świetnie, że właściciele zwracają dużą uwagę na recykling i odpowiednią segregację odpadów.
Niekiedy sąsiedzi byli niezadowoleni z faktu posiadania w budynku mieszkania na najem krótkoterminowy. Mieszkanie znajduje się ok. 3 km od centrum miasta, dlatego bywa problematyczne, by sprawnie wrócić z imprezy na pieszo.

In general it is nice, well equipped apartment, perfect for family. Terrace is really cool. Place is humid and there were some ants, but I guess it normal at the island. Some bathroom lights were not working. Person responsible for our check-in was nice, but told us that will arrive in 20 minutes to check us in and in the end it took 50. Not cool…. Especially at 22:00 where the restaurants are closing and we would organise different knowing real arrival time. One more con would be a neighbour, who came at 10:00 in the morning screaming at my parents, saying it’s not hotel and complaining on music. Just to be clear: we were getting ready and listening to music, no party, no screaming and 60 years old people at the apartment… Lady definitely had not the best day and decided to give vent to her emotions on us… Only problem is she wasn’t worried about noice laws when her kids were running and screaming at midnight and later. This left us a bit upset

Nice, clean, spacious apartment with 3 bedrooms & 3 baths. Good communication with the Island team when we needed some extras taken care of. Very responsive. Lots of appliances. Nice outside deck to sit on. Great having a washer & dryer, although it would have been helpful to have an instruction manual. Difficult to figure out all the symbols on the machines, but managed. Nice large screen TV. Hot water on demand makes for a wait until shower water turns hot, sometimes 5 minutes wait. Good induction stove for cooking. Had a good parking spot in the garage, a little tough to maneuver the car with the columns in the way. Garage door opener a little tricky, had to get out of the car a few times to get close to the slider, may need a new battery. Overall a great place to stay. We had 3 other people with us so everyone had a room/bath to themselves. Need to add a few extra forks to the utensil drawer. Only had 5. Otherwise had just about everything you needed for a pleasant stay.

The apartment itself is fine, but the noncommunication with the staff made for a very frustrating stay. There were no pillowcases on any pillows in the apartment. No one responded for three full days (our whole stay) to my requests to get basic bed linen. We were told to park in space #27 but we searched and couldn’t find that space number. Again, no response when we asked for help or if we could park in an unnumbered spot. There were ants in one bathroom and bedroom. We had no opportunity to tell them because there was no response to anything.

We were moved to this apartment from the original one we booked, which was a 3rd floor walk up with no elevator. Nowhere did the listing mention that. We had people with health issues that could not do that walk several times a day. We appreciate the eventual hours later response to move us but it came with a email that saiid, “Please note that although was not our fault and we have no obligation of solving this situation we are willing to help and support you appreciate out effort:)” In my opinion, it is their fault for not accurately describing the first property. The email felt like an FU.

An Island Apart is aptly named. It made us feel like we were stranded on a deserted island.

Fantastische vakantie gehad. Wat een mooie natuur.! Natuurlijk alleen alles te zien met huurauto, of boeken van excursies. Funchal heeft gezellig centrum en mooie tuinen ( met kabelbaan goed te bereiken). Mooi appartement. Mooi balkon. Veel apparatuur aanwezig. Wel wat onderhoud nodig aan binnendeuren qua sluiten. Matrassen niet zo geweldig wat je vooral met uitslapen voelt.
Ligt aan weg waarvandaan je snel op snelweg zit maar ook naar centrum ( auto).

After a very delayed journey to Madeira, we were warmly welcomed by Beatrice. She was incredibly flexible as our flights were diverted twice due to bad weather. She kept in touch and was very responsive all day.

When we finally arrived at the apartment, over six hours late, Beatrice made us feel at home right away. During our trip, she responded to any questions immediately and was always friendly and professional.

On our return to the airport, we booked a transfer through the Island Apart website and were blown away by the prompt, comfortable taxi and a very friendly and professional taxi driver. Thank you!

A couple of cons; the apartment is quite noisy as you can hear the neighbours above and alongside you. Also, we found the beds very creaky and uncomfortable - none of us slept well as a result.

Aside from that, the apartment is spacious, well located and a great base for exploring Funchal.

The apartment itself is stunning! It's located in a nice upscale condo and has a lot of potential to be amazing! The walk down to the center of Funchal takes about 15 minutes downhill (then you catch a cab to get back up!)
The beds are awful. It's incredible how a high-end property would have such low quality mattresses! We were there for 3 nights and the first night I tossed and turned the entire time. It felt like I was sleeping directly on top of a boxspring. You can actually feel the springs digging into your back! The next morning, I contacted the host to ask if they had a pillow top or something and she brought over extra duvets which really helped! (You need to fold them in half to get maximum support so if you're sharing the bed, ask for 2) So if you decide to stay here, ask for the duvets to be delivered before you arrive. If the host ever decide to invest in mattresses that match the level of the other facilities in the apartment, I'll definitely recommend it to others.

The place was awesome and exactly like the pictures. The location of the place is very good. 5 minute drive from all the good things to do in Funchal.

Communication with the host was so easy and they were super responsive and helped us out completely whenever we needed it. They even organised transfers to and from the airport which was very helpful.

Madeira is a beautiful place and staying at this apartment was a huge reason why we loved it so much.

Very comfortable and well equipped flat. About 35-40 minutes walk from city center with a good climb at the end (but if you’re not in the city center everything climbs anyway). Big terrace, whole appartement is extremly spacious.
