Beautiful apartment/studio with a great sea view and pool, located in an area with easy access to beaches and Funchal city centre.
Comfortable apartment/studio, with a modern and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a city break by the beach.
This property is open space, meaning that all areas are common to the same space, being distributed and equipped in a functional way. With a double bed and a sofa bed, this studio is for a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.
The living room gives access to a small balcony, with a seating area inviting for a leisure time, where you can contemplate the sea and the sky on sunny days while enjoying a coffee and/or a good wine.
In this calm and sunny building there is a swimming pool available, shared by the condominium, where you can take advantage of the good weather to go swimming. There is also a bar and a small grocery store.
Wi-Fi available in all areas.
Property with free parking, in a park reserved for residents, subject to availability.
AREA
The property is located in Rua da Quinta da Calaça, one of Funchal's tourist areas and within easy reach of the available beaches (paid and free) along the Promenade. This is a privileged area as it is close to the Forum Madeira shopping centre, paddle tennis courts, gardens, restaurants, bars/cafes, shops and other essential services and is a 7 minute drive from the centre of Funchal or 30 minutes on foot. It is also very close to the town of Câmara de Lobos where you can take the opportunity to explore some touristic attractions and taste the famous regional "poncha".
In Funchal city centre there are several touristic points of interest and information about cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities, whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before check-in, the cancellation is free up to 48 hours after the reservation, up to a maximum of 5 days before check-in.
After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

Para obter o cartão do parque tem de pagar uma canção de 50€. O parque de estacionamento é muito limitado e se estiver cheio, não há sitio próximo para deixar o carro.

Es war allerdings nicht so gut rausgewischt und die Handtücher hatten fast alle Flecken.
Die Kaffeemaschine die dort steht ist kaputt. Das habe ich allerdings erst gesehen, nachdem ich mir Kapseln gekauft hatte.
Das größte Problem allerdings ist die Parksituation. Wir haben die Wohnung nur gebucht, weil es laut Inserat einen Parkplatz gibt. Dem ist jedoch nicht so, wenn alle voll sind. Und falls mal einer frei war, wurde man regelmäßig eingeparkt. Ist uns nicht nur einmal passiert und hat uns die Tagesplanung ruiniert.
Es gibt ein Parkhaus die Straße runter, für das man 8,50€ pro Tag zahlen muss. Das wäre ja nicht super schlimm, wenn es nicht erst um 7 aufmachen würde und uns, mal wieder, die Tagesplanung ruiniert hätte.
Wo also soll man parken wenn alles voll ist und man in der Früh was vor hat?
Abgesehen davon war es schön und die Kommunikation war super.

The only potential issue is if you are hiring a car/needing to park…
1) the car park key was not left in the room even though we had paid our key deposit, so we had to park elsewhere on the first night. We had to wait until they dropped it to us - this might have just been a mistake on their part though.
2) There are limited spaces and these spaces are not reserved, so once the car park is full you have to pay to park elsewhere.
We parked a couple of evenings at the garden car park opposite the apartments for €8.50

We’d like to clarify the parking situation: there was no additional charge for the parking itself. Instead, the deposit you paid is a standard procedure to cover the cost in case of loss or damage to the parking card. This deposit is fully refunded at the end of your stay. Please note that parking is subject to availability due to the limited number of spaces, and we always do our best to accommodate our guests' needs.

Das Apartment scheint in einem Komplex aus privaten Mietwohnungen und vermieteten Ferienwohnungen zu liegen. Es machte sogar den Eindruck, dass diese Ferienwohnung an Urlauber untervermietet wird. Dementsprechende ist das Treppenhaus und die Gänge wenig ansprechend hergerichtet und der Gang zu unserer Ferienwohnung war auch oft verraucht. Das ganze Gebäude macht den Eindruck, ein altes Hotel gewesen zu sein, da auch ein Pool vorhanden war, nicht besonders ansprechend, aber um sich kurz abzukühlen völlig ausreichend und sauber.
Ärgerlich sind auch die beiden Badeareale direkt vor der Haustür, die nicht frei zugänglich sind, es muss immer bezahlt werden, teilweise bis zu 11 € am Tag pro Person.
Als Ausgangspunkt zum Baden ist die Unterkunft eher weniger geeignet, da fußläufig kein kostenfreier (sicherer) Strand zu erreichen ist.
Nur ein Steinstrand kann erreicht werden, aber der ist bei stärkeren Wellen nicht zu empfehlen und unserer Meinung nach doch sehr gefährlich.

Madeira ist definitiv ein Paradies für Radfahrer, und es ist schön zu hören, dass die Unterkunft dafür ideal gelegen war.
Wir bedauern, dass das Treppenhaus und die Gemeinschaftsbereiche des Komplexes nicht Ihren Erwartungen entsprachen und dass das Rauchproblem den Weg zur Ferienwohnung beeinträchtigt hat. Auch verstehen wir Ihren Wunsch nach kostenfreien Badeplätzen in der Nähe, die leicht zugänglich sind. It was a bit too small for 3 people. When sofa bed and table were unfolded, there was very little space to move around. Also found that kitchen area was a bit too small… there weren’t that many car spaces in car park especially in the evening and on the weekend.

The bed is better than any other place in Funchal.
Quiet area close to shopping center and supermarket.
We had a nice time with a sea view and beautiful sunset !

Minor things only. The parking lot is quite full in the evenings and there's a challenge to find a spot. Also, the small shelf in the shower was hanging unfixed, and on the slightest touch, it dropped the glass gel bottle that broke on the shower floor.

L’appartamento è confortevole e pulito, dotato di tutto il necessario anche in cucina: stoviglie, pentole, spugna, detersivo per piatti…
Nonostante le dimensioni dell’edificio la stanza è silenziosa.
Non c’è aria condizionata ma di sera aprendo le finestre entra una piacevole aria fresca.
Il parcheggio è davvero un problema, in alta stagione (mese del soggiorno agosto) non bisogna fare affidamento sul parcheggio privato perché non c’è mai posto. Nei dintorni ci sono parcheggi pubblici liberi in strada ma dovete avere pazienza e non aver paura di camminare un po’ (strade molto ripide) per arrivare all’alloggio. Su un soggiorno di 7 notti abbiamo potuto parcheggiare l’auto nel parcheggio della struttura solo una sera. C’è anche un parcheggio a pagamento nelle vicinanze ma costa 5,50€ al giorno e di notte è chiuso.
La lavatrice inoltre è inutilizzabile a causa dell’odore che esce dalla stessa quando la aprite. Peccato perché dopo una settimana passata a fare un trekking al giorno portare a casa i vestiti puliti non sarebbe stato male.

The general drawback of this location is lack of enough parking places. It's a 11 store building, former hotel, but is has really tiny parking lot - suitable for around 30 cars. So finding the free place, especially in the evenings is practically speaking impossible.

Budynek nadgryziony "zębem czasu". Budynek wymaga odświeżenia wewnątrz i na zewnątrz. Budynek wygląda tak, jakby jedna część stanowiła hotel robotniczy.
