Lovely apartment, clean and modern. Air con a big bonus. Quiet despite the main road (could not hear the traffic). Nice view of park. Perfect to walk into the old town. Could not be better for that.
Lots of local restaurants and bars around as well.
One shower overflows, but it was not a problem. Use the other one, or turn water off when soaping up

Dear Owner,

Thank you for your place.

The location and cleanliness was fantastic. The security also made us comfortable traveling with a 15 and 10 year old.

We were amazed at how convenient the location to all restaurants, boardwalk etc the apartment was. By the second day, we had the hang of all surroundings. The patio was exceptionally great as even tgough it was hot during iur stay we were able to sit outside for a night cap as a couple while our kids relaxed.

There was a huge issue that your main shower did not have a drain and I had to spend my first morning cleaning up water that leaked out of shower. I honestly paid for two full functioning washrooms but only one shower was draining properly.

The last suggestion is that the lockbox location for key pick up should be described better. Had my husband not climbed over the railing we still would have been looking for it.

Thank you so much as Madeira stoke our hearts far more than Lisbon !!!

Świetny apartament wyposażony we wszystko co potrzebne. Apartament miał duży taras, na którym spijaliśmy codzienną kawkę z widokiem :) Lokalizacja jest śwetna :) samo centrum , tuż przy porcie, ok 10 minut spacerkiem do starego miasta, gdzie spacerowaliśmy codziennie wieczorkiem ,które zdecydowanie jest naszym ulubionym miejscem w Funchal :)
wszystko nam sie podobało, absolutnie nie ma się do czego przyczepić :)

We were three adults and stayed at the beginning of February The apartment is in a superb location very close to the marina at the Ronaldo hotel end looking inland to Monte and the park area.It is in easy walking distance to the shops restaurants and other amenities and if you like to watch the cruise ships the port is literally round the corner The apartment was well presented very clean and had everything we needed for our seven day stay It has one en-suite bathroom plus a separate bathroom which saves a lot of time when getting ready to go out The hosting agents An Island Apart were very good with communications before and throughout our stay We like to visit Madeira and will stay here again if available for our dates Highly recommend to anyone needing a good base to explore Funchal

The apartment was perfectly located in the centre of Funchal and it was so easy to get everywhere within the city on foot. The apartment was modern and spacious and had everything we needed for a five day stay. The furniture and beds were comfortable. We loved the balcony, which runs the whole length of the apartment and is well-furnished, as it was lovely to sit outside at the end of a busy day and into the evening. We had a little difficulty locating the key box when we first arrived, because we had taken the wrong entrance into the forecourt, but the host quickly sent someone to assist us. We would highly recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to visit this delightful city.

Le logement est top, parfaitement placé dans le centre de Funchal tout en étant proche des axes routiers pour voyager dans l’île, La vue de la terrasse est un vrai plus. Tout était parfait à l’intérieur du logement. Le parking est un plus si vous avez un véhicule.

L'appartement correspond exactement aux photos.
Il est idéalement situé, prêt du port, il se situe entre la nouvelle partie et l'ancienne partie de la ville.
Nous avions la vue sur une superbe fontaine éclairée le soir.
En sortant de l'immeuble on se retrouvait directement sur la grande rue de Funchal, ou l'on retrouve plein de restaurants et bars très agréables avec leur terrasse extérieure.
Nous y retournerions sans aucune hésitation.

Getting access to the property was contact less. Received instructions via sms & email. Location was what we wanted.
The outside terrace floor was dirty and needed to be cleaned. The air conditioner remote controls needed new batteries which we helped replace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay and would recommend the apartment highly.

The apartment is in a great location - on the water, at the edge of the old town, 1-2 blocks from a supermarket, and easy access to roads leaving the city. Many restaurants and shops within a 5-10 minute walk

Very clean and well-lit. The balcony is a bonus as only a few apartments in the building seem to have one. Kitchen is very-well equipped.

Also a plus is the parking space, although getting in and out of the garage (to your car, not driving out) is a bit circuitous.

We loved our stay in Funchal! It was perfect for two couples. Nice bedrooms/bathrooms, and an amazing location. Wonderful little patio overlooking the city! Only suggestion is to make instructions more clear for how to get into the parking garage… everything else was perfect.

The apartment was good.
As other people have commented, the beds were quite hard due to the thin mattresses.
replacing these would make a big difference along with the towels which were thin and off white.
Kitchen quite small, would not like to cook a family meal there due to lack of space and only storage in the fridge.
In a great position and walkable to most places, plus lovely view from the balcony.
If these small changes were made, would not hesitate in coming back.

The apartment is in a good position, central to most things, and lovely view from the balcony.
Easy access to apartment.
Mattresses need replacing as very thin, and not comfortable to sleep on.
Towels thin, could also benefit from replacing.
Kitchen small, no storage apart from in fridge, would not have liked to cook for a family there.
Had to buy tea towel as couldn't find one for drying dishes.

The apartment was very nicely furnished, well equipped and in an excellent location. The only thing thing that lets it down slightly is the mattress on the bed, which was thin and a bit uncomfortable, not of the same quality as the rest of the apartment.

Great location and right in the hub of lots to see and do. The building was easy to find and very upscale with local restaurants offering a bit of everything.
Some complaints , sofa was too low and uncomfortable. The unit Needed more towels upon arrival. And lastly the mattress needs replacing felt the boards coming through.

Aside from a somewhat tricky check in process, the apartment was beautiful, spacious, clean, and in a great location in the heart of Funchal. We had a spectacular view of the city from the balcony and the area is extremely walkable, being minutes away from grocery stores, shopping malls, and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

To be fair to the host regarding the check in, they provide helpful videos to help locate how to get the house keys and parking garage, though some maps highlighting key locations for check-in would be useful. You definitely want to have a data connection on your phone before checking in so you have access to all of the resources the host provides.

Met our host who handed keys over & took us up to the apartment at 4pm.
Great central apartment for Funchal. Easy access to the center.
Also the pick up for tours were outside the building, along with local buses.
Apartment was well equipped with most things you need.
If you leave early morning / late at the end of your stay & all the gates are closed & you've been asked to leave entry keys & card in the apartment - don't panic to think your locked in - there is a exit button by the bus stop end! (this wasn't explained by the host or information pack & not very visible - a slight panic at 7:30am!) - although I think the entry details that are emailed need to be updated as a few things have changed?
Overall a great stay, very clean (apart from the huge rug & uncomfortable mattresses!) perfectly placed in Funchal.
The most uncomfortable beds, these were mentioned in a previous review & was hoping this was addressed as per their reply - this hasn't happened - so if you like a firm bed where your hips are on the hard base of the bed frame your sorted. (more like a thick mattress topper without the mattress)
They also need to get rid of the rug in main room as needs a really good clean - but everything else was spotlessly clean
also just a small thing - lack of washing up liquid? (as no dishwasher) - they provided a sponge & cloth along with tea-towels .. just a small basic but not something you want to buy a whole one for a weeks holiday. (however supermarket in the complex $$)

This apartment is spacious, clean, and well-equipped. It's got a great patio with lovely views. The beds, though, are thin and lumpy. Access involves a gate keycard and fiddly elevator key. Very poor staff communication.

The person who checked me in said you needed the keycard also to exit the gate, without pointing out the hidden switch to release it: when we checked out as instructed and left the keycards on the table, we spent a panicked 15 minutes unsuccessfully trying to reach them and figure out how we were going to catch our flight. More: there are two elevator banks, and one of them he said "you can't use that one because it doesn't have a key" after trying unsuccessfully to push the button... except you can use the keycard. I also asked (2-3 times before getting an answer) about holding our luggage because our flight was quite early, and they said that I could leave it in their office, for which they listed the hours, including that it's closed the day we checked in.

You'll have to meet with someone in their company to show you the unit otherwise it's quite tricky to navigate to especially when you're driving and looking for the parking spot.

The space is clean and in close walking proximity to everything you need in the area.

The only downside to this experience was that another host accidentally walked in our unit showing another guest without any warning or notice.

Really enjoyed Madeira and staying at this place. It is right downtown with everything you need around you. Bakery across the street we amazing bread. Supermarket and mall within 5 min walking distance. Beautiful park across the street. Despite being downtown it was very quiet inside the place at night. Beds were comfortable.

Had an extremely lovely stay. Apartment was like home away from home. Great location where all places are easily accessible. There was a lovely cafe right opposite the apartment with great coffee and pastries.
Even though the road outside the apartment was quite busy and noisy it didn't carry through at night due to the really good soundproofing of the windows.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone thinking of coming to Madeira for a vacation.

Fabulous location as everything within easy walking distance. Apartment is clean & modern as described with aircon throughout. Plenty of room but there were only two of us staying. No issues whatsoever with elevators up & down to the 5th floor & we found it very quiet in the building itself. There is some traffic noise from the City but we were never overly conscious of it generally and were never disturbed at night with the doors closed. All in all we had a great stay.

Great location - walkable to all the sights, plus a bus stop right outside.
The balcony is great for people watching - although in April we didn’t get the sun until around 2.30pm.
All in all a great apartment and Funchal is great! I highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The instructions on how to find the place were great. It’s a lovely space with great access to the local amenities. The parking is along a great bonus too. Can’t recommend enough.

You couldn't be in a better spot in Funchal. Modern apartment with up to date amenities. Although 2 bedrooms, it is a tight fit for 4 people for more than a week's stay. Support staff are accommodating.

large balcony plenty of seats.
stains on rugs
no dishwasher
cheap mattresses
no champagne glasses
old worn towels
no foil provided
no cling film provided
no coffee pods provided.
Not even a bottle of water provided upon arrival.
sheets on beds should be better quality for price paid.

Apartment overpriced. Apartment looks better in pics than it actually was. I would not stay here again . We had a great holiday, but think carefully before booking here.

Apartment has a very good location and it is convenient for visiting Funchal. As others have mentioned - despite that it is located on busy traffic area, it is silent with closed windows. Bathrooms looked fresh and recently renovated.
Precise how to get in upon arrival if you check-in in late hours, as outside gate might be closed and then it might be harder to get the keys.
Host offered good transfer option that was very convenient and well priced.

Excellent apartment. Great location, few mins walk to main stretch. Free parking space included, which is rare for a central location. Clean and spacious apartment. Highly responsive host and very helpful. Easy check-in and check-out via lockbox. Would highly recommend and am looking forward to staying here again !

Beautiful apartment in a perfect location, so close to so many lovely restaurants and bars. While the apartment is on a busy road, it is very sound proof, we never had any issue with noise. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The check in was seamless and the communication really helpful! 5 ⭐️

Our stay was perfectly fine - the Airbnb is in a central location and was clean, though the beds were slightly uncomfortable. It is quite minimal but if you’re just looking for an easy spot to be in, it works. The stay is run through an external travel company (An Island Apart) and that sometimes made communicating take an extra step.

The apartment in very nice, with a very central location. The terrace is looking towards the mountains which is a nice thing to see after sunset. Kitchen is also well equipped, as well as the laundry corner.
We enjoyed our stay overall.
Even though it´s positioned on the main boulevard, there is no issue with the noise.

This is a great place to stay while in Madeira. A perfect location for all you want to see and do and it is a beautiful spotless apartment. Communication with the host was great as they were quick to respond when we had questions.
There is a beautiful view from the spacious balcony and there is also a cute wine bar on the other side of the building which is great
for a nightcap. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a very short cab ride away plus the waterfront is right around the corner. It was a very nice stay and I highly recommend!

The check in process was very easy. The apartment was very secure, comfortable, clean, modern and accessible to everything Funchal has to offer. Decio our contact for any questions we had, tended to all of our needs promptly. He was amazing. I would definitely rent this apartment again!

Our whole experience from start to finish was absolutely fantastic.
Nothing was ever any trouble from organising our transfer to and from airport to booking taxis and just general questions for Núria.
The apartment was just beautiful and spotlessly clean.
As for location I don’t think we could have had a better spot, right in the centre of Funchal overlooking a spectacular roundabout with water fountain, and just opposite the most amazing bakery where we would buy coffee and breakfast each morning. And eating out you are spoilt for choice. I could keep going on and on with all the amazing things Funchal has to offer, but you’ll just have to book and try it for yourselves, we will be back over the Christmas and if this apartment is available we would be so happy 😀.
Thanks again for a great stay.

A great location right in the centre of Funchal, close to all amenities and some great restaurants/bars (Kampo, Prima Caju, Fuga Cidade). The apartment itself was very comfortable (and quiet - good sound proofing) and we enjoyed the balcony with hillside views of Funchal and Santa Catarina Park.
