Este é um encantador bairro residencial tranquilo, conhecido pelas suas vistas imponentes e por muitos museus.
Este espantoso e espaçoso apartamento faz parte de um edifício moderno, composto apenas por duas unidades residenciais. O hall de entrada transmite logo uma sensação impactante e a escadaria conduz-nos a uma elegante e convidativa sala de estar, localizada no primeiro andar. A janela, que nos leva até à varanda, proporciona as mais magníficas vistas sobre a cidade do Funchal, da baía, das montanhas circundantes e do mar. É preciso beliscar-se para perceber que a vista é real e não uma bela pintura!
Paredes brancas, pavimentos de madeira e mobiliário de estilo moderno criam uma sensação de tranquilidade e conforto. Todas as áreas principais estão localizadas no mesmo piso. Na sala, um grande sofá e poltronas confortáveis proporcionam uma agradável área de estar onde todos se podem reunir para observar o glorioso panorama da paisagem urbana. A sala de estar tem TV de plasma por cabo e a Internet de alta velocidade está disponível em todo o apartamento. Tem também uma grande mesa de jantar para até oito pessoas com uma cozinha elegante e bem equipada, convenientemente localizada mesmo ao lado da mesma. Há também uma zona de serviço separada com uma máquina de lavar roupa.
No mesmo andar que a sala de estar e a cozinha estão localizados todos os três quartos duplos, dois dos quais têm acesso directo a uma varanda e um tem uma casa-de-banho privada com banheira. Existe uma segunda grande casa-de-banho familiar com duche.
Subindo ao último andar, encontra um grande e arejado sótão com janelas e uma área de lazer com espaço para leitura ou jogos. Há aqui um WC e duas camas que são para uso ocasional de hóspedes adicionais, crianças/adolescentes.
Altamente invulgar no centro do Funchal, o apartamento vem com a vantagem de ter dois lugares de estacionamento privados numa garagem subterrânea segura.

A propriedade está localizada a um minuto a pé da Fortaleza de São João Baptista do Pico e de um parque infantil com um simpático bar/café de apoio. A poucos minutos a pé estará no centro do Funchal, a capital da Ilha da Madeira. Nas proximidades estão outros locais de paragem obrigatória como: o Museu das Cruzes e o respectivo Miradouro das Cruzes, o Convento de Santa Clara ou o Universo de Memórias de João Carlos Abreu. No sentido descendente e a uma curta distância a pé estão localizados centros comerciais, supermercado, farmácias, cabeleireiros, lojas de retalho e outros serviços.
No centro da cidade há diversas possibilidades com atividades para todos os gostos. Atividades culturais, atividades radicais, atividades ligadas à natureza, seja qual for o objetivo da visita à Ilha da Madeira.

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and the view was wonderful. The added air conditioning im each room was such a great addition. We liked the location and I even walked to a few stores by foot. The parking is very tight so bare that in mind when booking.
The only negative experience we had was the neighbor downstairs. We accidentally left a tiny bag of food by our car. She came banging on the door and shouting at us saying we shouldn't be leaving trash out. One my wife responded to her in Portuguese (as she is actually from Madeira) the lady calmed down. We have 3 kids with us so we just got distracted and forgot. Honest mistake. And on another side note, if you book through this company "swimming with dolphins" to swim with the dolphins then please save your money. Its false advertisement. It was just a boat trip to see dolphins. No swimming at all. Our kids were very disappointed.
Aside from that it was a great trip. The apartment was welcoming, large and clean.

Das Appartement ist mit gut dimensionierten 3 Schlafzimmern, zwei Bädern, den unvergesslichen Ausblick über Funchal, ob bei Tag oder Nacht, ihren Preis wert. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und die Sonnenauf- und Untergänge sehr genossen. Austattungstechnisch haben wir nichts vermisst, es ist alles da was man benötigt.
Es befindet sich in Anhöhe, sodass es eventuell fussläufig eine Herausforderung werden kann. Wir waren mit dem Auto unterwegs, wofür es eine private Tiefgarage gibt, unterwegs und hatte. deswegen keine Probleme mit den steilen Anstiegen.
Die Lage ist ebenfalls ideal, sodass man überall innerhalb kürzester Zeit in der Gegend Funchal hinkommt.
Was vielleicht zu beachten ist, dass einige Hunde in der Umgebung leben und öfters mal bellen, bei geschlossenen Fenstern, hört man diese fast nicht.

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. Generally a quiet part of time apart from a couple of local dogs barking and a cockerel joining in. It was lovely to wake up and see a cruise ship in the dock. We would highly recommend staying here.

sehr ruhige Lage direkt am Castello, Innenstadt gut zu Fuß zu erreichen, der Weg zurück ist allerdings sehr steil, Parken in der Tieggarage ist perfekt, man kommt auch mit dem Auto sehr gut weg in alle Richtungen der Insel, Wohnung ist wir beschrieben, sehr schön, ohne unnötigen Schnickschnack.

Appartement avec une vue exceptionnelle, fidèle aux photos présentées. Propre et spacieux. Très agréable : nous étions 5 personnes. La présence d'un parking est un réel avantage compte tenu de la configuration des rues. La descente en ville est possible à pied, mais les rues très pentues, nécessitent que l'on soit bien en forme pour revenir à l'appartement. Nous avons utilisé la voiture pour nos soirées en ville ! Le seul bémol : les aboiements des chiens à 7h du matin.

Views from the apartment are great. Easy check-in and communication has been easy with the host. Parking in garage can get tricky, suggest renting a smaller car. The house doesn’t come with shampoo etc. which would’ve been nice to have. All in all, it was a great stay!

Die Wohnung ist richtig groß und geräumig. Viel Platz , 3 Schlafzimmer, 1 großer Wohnbereich mit Esstisch und zwei Bädern. Die Aussicht ist top!! In der Küche alles Notwendige vorhanden. Die Betten sind gut. Die Wohnungsübergabe klappt sehr unkompliziert mit Schlüsselbox. Das Objekt hat eine Garage, die etwas schwer einfahrbar ist ,aber mit ein bisschen Übung klapp auch das. Die Stadt ist jedoch auch fußläufig gut zu erreichen (Hanglage, also immer Bergauf :-)). In unserer Woche legte jeden Tag ein Kreuzfahrtschiff an, so dass man insbesondere in Funchal und Umgebung den Schiffstouris nicht entgehen konnte. Die Wohnung ist schon - insbesondere der Duschbereich - etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Reinigung war grundsätzlich okay (leicht keine Fusseln und Haare vom Vormieter). Uns fehlte zu Beginn das Toilettenpapier. Nervig waren die vielen Hunde auf den Dächern von Madeira, die sowohl Tags aber insbesondere Nachts keine Ruhe gaben.

The apartment is described as having 3 bathrooms, it only has 2 bathrooms and a small toilet in the loft accessed by some open plan stairs which are very slippery.
We booked this on the basis each couple in each bedroom would have their own bathroom, we where very disappointed to find there where only 2 bathrooms. and two couples had to share one bathroom.
WE WOULDN'T HAVE BOOKED THIS APARMENT IF WE KNEW THIS.
This is a very misleading advert for their apartment on Booking.Com who don't seem to be bothered about the misleading advert on their platform.
Also the place is surrounded by barking dogs, day and night, don't book this if you need a peaceful nights sleep.
Good view over the harbour though.

Le logement correspondait à nos attentes. La vue du balcon est indescriptible et apaisante! Le logement est grand, cuisine est fonctionnelle et il y a deux salles de bains, ce qui était parfait pour nous qui étions quatre. La place de parking est grande mais l’accès à ce dernier est un peu étroit, il faut manipuler avec douceur tout simplement Le logement est à moins de dix minutes à pied du centre du Funchal mais attention il se trouve en haut d’une montée, ce qui n’était pas dérangeant pour nous mais ça mérite de le mentionner. Il y a des chiens dans les environs, on les entendaient aboyer le matin ce qui peut être dérangeant pour certains personnes. L’hôte était au petit soin avec nous, si nous avions besoin de quoi que ce soit il était disponible. Je recommande à 100% ce logement juste incroyable, avec un très beau rapport qualité prix. Nous reviendrons avec un grand plaisir !

We liked the large space of the apartment and the beautiful Funchal panorama. The rooms were clean and tidy, the neighbourhood was calm and quiet. The garage provided good comfort, there was no need to look for parking place at arrival in the evenings. Casa do Castelo is an excellent place top stay, one of the best we ever visited. -

Wir waren mit dem Apartment sehr zufrieden. Sehr empfehlenswert! Eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit dem fantastischen Blick auf Funchal und den Ozean. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, die Betten sehr bequem. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet, nur eine Sache war uns nicht klar: was sollten wir mit dem Müll machen, es gab nur einen Eimer und wir konnten den Müll nicht richtig sortieren. Sonst war alles perfekt!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in unserer Unterkunft in Funchal. Die Wohnung ist super gelegen, um zu Fuß in die Innenstadt zu laufen und man hat einen atemberaubenden Blick über Funchal. Wir hatten alles in der Wohnung, was wir brauchten und die Zimmer sahen genau aus wie auf den Fotos. Je nach Mietwagen kann es eine kleine Herausforderung darstellen, in die Garage zu kommen (sehr eng), aber wir waren sehr froh, dass wir einen Platz in der Garage hatten.

My family and I had an excellent stay at this apartment! It was easy to find, very clean, super spacious, and had stunning views of Funchal from almost every room. What drew us to this location was proximity of shops and restaurants, and the private garage. The apartment is roughly a 15 minute walk the central area of the city. The surrounding streets are narrow and steep which made it a challenge walking back on foot, as well as maneuvering a SUV (we used a Peugeot 5008) into the garage. Each day presented new challenges based on who is parked on the street, however we were able to make it work. The garage is large enough 3 cars (2 spaces for this listing) and enough room to K-turn. Despite these little challenges, without a doubt, I would highly recommend this listing to anyone!

We were a family group of 2 couples and a singleton. All the bedrooms were very respectably sized doubles. The kitchen was well appointed and the shared lounge / diner was also very spacious. With that and the terrace we had no need to use the room in the loft.
The panoramic view is the selling point, whether you enjoy it through the picture windows or from the terrace. The location is fine, just 10 mins' walk from e.g. Blandy's ( maybe 15 min on the uphill return journey!).
Tour operators An Island Apart were really enthusiastic, courteous and efficient. Arriving well before the 1600 check-in (there was no attempt to offer an early check-in), we were able to leave our bags at a nearby office while we visited the town.
The online check-in process gives you the option to book transfers, paying in advance. That went well. On a Monday morning, the drive to the airport was less than 30 min.

Figyelembe véve egész Madeira természeti adottságait, hogy itt majd minden épület a hegyen van…a környék ideális volt, közel a belvároshoz. Csodálatos kilátás volt a teraszról. Összességében nagyon kényelmes apartman, jól éreztük magunkat. A lakás felszereltségében apró hiányosságok voltak ( w.c. kefe, vágódeszka ). A kádas fürdőszobában erős kanális szag volt, mozog a W.C. csésze, a zuhanyfej és a gégecső folyik. A törülközők nagyon elhasználódottak. A környéken nem nagyon találtunk gyalogosan elérhető élelmiszer boltot.

Great accommodation. Would highly recommend. Very large apartment, recently and tastefully renovated. Amazing views over the city and bay. A short distance from the city center. It’s a bit of a walk (uphill), but the apartment has a garage with two parking spaces, which is super convenient. Very well located to reach all the sites on the south, east and north coast - and a short drive from the airport. Great value.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in der Wohnung. Es stimmt es gibt viele Hunde in der Umgebung, allerdings hat man so gut wie keinen Verkehrslärm und die Hunde haben auch nicht dauerhaft gebellt. Unbeschreiblich ist die Aussicht vom Balkon bei Nacht. Wir saßen jeden Abend draußen und haben den Mond und die Stadt beobachtet. Es war wirklich toll!
Nicht weit entfernt ist ein Hotel Restaurant wo man wirklich super essen und sitzen kann! Zum Einkaufen muss man ca. 10 Minuten den Berg runterlaufen. War auch in Ordnung. Allgemein bleibt man wirklich gut fit, weil man in die Stadt auch immer den Berg runter muss! Vorallem beim letzten Stück zurück kommt man schon gut ins schwitzen.
Wir würden die Wohnung auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen!

Die Unterkunft entsprach unseren Erwartungen. Einrichtung sehr ansprechend, sehr sauber, insgesamt mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt. Sehr schöner Blick von 3 Räumen auf die Altstadt und das Meer. Es gab eigentlich nichts zu beanstanden. Einzig die Einfahrt zur Garage war extrem steil, was das Parken etwas erschwerte. Aber schön, überhaupt die Möglichkeit zu haben, das Auto am Apartment zu parken.

Das Apartment ist ansprechend eingerichtet, sehr geräumig. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Es gibt eine gut ausgestattete Küche, Waschmaschine. Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr großzügig, vor zwei Schlafzimmern und dem Wohnzimmer gibt es einen Balkon mit großartigem Blick über die Stadt sind aufs Meer.
Ein Tiefgaragenplatz steht auch zur Verfügung.
Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Der Ausblick diese Unterkunft ist der absolute Wahnsinn und den steilen Anstieg absolut wert! Was uns jedoch sowohl tagsüber als auch nachtsüber sehr zu schaffen machte waren die durchgehend bellenden Hunde des Nachbarn. Ansonsten war die Unterkunft ein Traum!

The view from this place was stunning. Hosts were very helpful and allowed us to store bags early before check-in. Perfect spot to explore Funchal. Steep hill to return but plenty of low cost taxis in town to get you back in a few minutes. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to others!

Una habitació amb bany propi dins l'habitació i les altres 2 habitacions comparteixen el segon bany. Addicionalment hi ha un altell (amb una escala de dificil accés) on hi ha un estudi i un espai minúscul (la porta d'entrada fa 1,70m d'alçada, has d'entrar ajupit) amb un WC. The Apartment was very nice, recently refurbished and with nice decoration. It had two nice terraces, a very big living room and a generous kitchen. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms too. It had an upstairs office that could easily have more uses even though the ceiling os quite low.
The only bad thing about this apartment is the location. The neighbourhood wasn’t very nice, a little dark. There were little parking spots (they have a very big garage but the entrance is so steep that you can only access with a very high car, we rented a Mercedes class B and couldn’t access). There are a thousand dogs barking night and day and the streets are very narrow with cars passing by extremely fast. You’ll find out soon enough that the people in this island drive like maniacs.

The view and the apartment are beautiful but if you want to get a good night sleep or walk into town not the place for you. It is located in a very steep residential area with no AC so need to keep windows open to circulate air and neighborhood dogs bark all night. We had to move out.

It is brand new, cosy and sophisticated design, you have everything you could need for a longer stay, every detail is answered, perfect communication with the host, in one word - best ever place to stay! not a simple remark could be made here!

Nice place with a great view! We stayed there for 15 days while working remotely. Shared bathroom was clogged from day one, so had to stand in a puddle while showering. I told the property management company but they didn’t do anything. Lots of dogs all around this house and their owners don’t try to keep them quite. So if you are a light sleeper, bring a good pair of earplugs because the dogs keep going 24x7. No fans or air conditioning so when it gets too hot, you leave the doors and windows open, which gets the place cool quick. They only had a very thick comforter, which was too warm for the weather so we had to use the sheets by cannibalizing the beds and using the comforters as the sheets. Overall nice place but we were one of the first renters, which is why I am writing a detailed review so that the property management team can take steps to make things better. .

This was a really lovely apartment, about a ten minute walk from town, up a steep hill like most of Funchal. Very clean with an amazing view.
